'Testing the water'

That actually translates to 'I'm asking top whack and then some for my car in the hope someone will jump at it'.

£5250 for that? Complete joker.

Why is low mileage such a valuable attribute anyway? I would be the least keen to buy a car that's only done 7k as long as I've been alive.

Don't remember them having painted bumpers and grille. However at eight large it's irrelevant as no-one with an ounce of sense is going to buy it.

I could see it making perhaps two and a half on a good day, but the price he wants is just mental. The 1.8 manuals had a close ratio box which them a good laugh to drive but as this a Bader box it's even less desirable.

Nobody with an ounce of sense bought the turd when it was new!

I just bought a brand new boxed 6 cyl 3 Series radiator for 99p. I haven't got the car to put the rad into, but I love ebay sometimes. :D

Fucking LOL! Two grand for a warmed up Mk2 Astra with a piss poor self destruct engine.

Only 14.5K

If you plan to hire the car out then you can expect to get around £300 per booking

According to my calculation, assuming the 'around' £300 was clear profit, you would have to do 48.3333333333333333333333333333333 bookings before you made a profit.

Where do I sign?

Yours for only SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND FRICKING EUROS.

Um, it's a 3000 mile 131 Abarth. €65,000 isn't that mental for it. It ain't cheap, but its less than a 3000 mile RS1800 Mk2 would easily fetch here, and to Italians this is pretty much the same thing.

If it was a Supermirafiori Sport, it'd be €60,000 over the odds.

Look at it this way, what can you buy for your 65 grand? A gleaming new 3-series in metallic black, exactly like every other metallic black 3-series down your road, not to mention the thousand others in your town? I'll take the standout option any time! Says the man with the only Mk1 Capri on the road in the whole of Paphos District... For camouflage, I have the pickup, it looks just the same as several others in my village... except for the alloys, Truckman top, badge bar... :D

And I bet the Abarth will be a hoot to drive, not like the BMW which is just a big Playstation...

I dont know what BMW you can get for 65k but I bet its pretty freakin decent actually.

Maybe it is, but driving experience aside (and mine were negative anyway) my point is that it'll be exactly like everyone else's! One of the reasons we love our shite is because it ISN'T the same as everyone else's, surely? Please don't tell me you aspire to be a fashion victim...

Or a three year old M3 and about 30 Austin Meastros!

That's one of those dreams Pog has that start off all lovely and suddenly turn into a nightmare. :D

65k would buy a cracking Austin Ambassador of Ebay, the trainfair to go collect, the insurance to drive home with the rest to go to the Mrs to stop her walking out when she sees the fucking thing.

LOL. I have to say, my £65k wouldn't go on a Mk2 Escort. £10k of it might, but the rest would be headed for the biggest, fastest, thug of a luxury motor I could find. Quite probably on an alloy XJR... a 911 and an Aston V8.

Sixty five large equals a tidy Lotus Carlton and 12,016 double vodka and Monsters in Wetherspoons.

I suppose the reason I gravitated towards this place is that even if every single Fiat 131 cost the same, I would still choose one of these:

Not keen on any of the racier examples, having spent too much of my childhood seeing bright orange 2000TCs being driven about by trumpeting great cock-funnels.
