I'd imagine that to be quite the wheeze.... looks almost stock (the wheels are a bit marmite but not OTT) but should go fairly well.I can think of a lot more fun that can be had with £4200 though. £2400 maybe if it's properly done and minty inside.

GR8 for paddy rallying (though the guinness slurpers haven't got any money left now).

Thats not a ridiculous price for one of those, even a project. The driveway-tarmacers love em!

1989 Cagiva Moke 6

Look at this eye sore, I can think of better ways of spending £18000.

This is what it looked like back in 1994, I preferred it back then!

That's about the going rate as well; mk.2 Mondeos often go for £2000+ and finding a running legal car for under around £500 is very hard indeed. Still, not so bad as you can sell it again for the same price

Neg..uhm mate..dont take Trade Me as an indication of prices..i paid $800 for a legal Viva..we paid $500 for a legal 89 Mitsi Mirage..that has since got 3 MOTs..what u paid for your Commodore..a mate of mine got a 2002 refreshed ex cop car for less..and theres Turners Auctions as well where u can get a Merc estate for under a grand..and prices are regional..u pay more in Auckland..and much much less here or Palmerston Nth..

£65000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:shock::shock::shock: I'd want it to have a "FEV" reg no and Roger Clarks arse print on the seat for that amount.Since when has an Escort been worth more than a Countach????

Stop with all this overpriced Escort talk. It's making me giddy ;-)For £65k I'd want the paint on the n/s/r 1/4 to match....Gonna go and spend some time working on mine next month, might not be back until Autumn by the rate of progress so far..

I saw Casualty this week for the first time in ages and I noticed two things about Charlie Fairhead. One was that he's still punchable after all those years and the other was that he has a Mk1 Escort. And nurses complain that they're underpaid!

Part of my rant at the telly this week on Casualty (apart from the unconvincing MI with all the symptoms of a AAA) was Charlies car - when we first met him he had a 1300S Beetle in yellow, then he moved on to a Moggie Minor, then a Moggie Traveler, now he seems to have picked up an Ezzy.Total horseshit. As charge nurse of A&E working part time he should be driving an Audi A3.

Shutit! I love Casualty. Did think the Escort was going to end up a nasty mess though.

The last time I saw Charlie getting in a car (wearing his bomber jacket to show that he was now off duty) it was a newish at the time Mk2 Golf, which is pretty much in line with the A3 you say he should be driving now. Is there a rule in real A&E units that you aren't allowed to get hurt unless you are on the hospital staff?

Never heard of a Lotus Escort (and I'm too lazy to click the link). Is it a TwinC or something ?

Posted

Got be a Twin Cam at a guess, My dad had one back in the 70's but flogged it for a Avenger Tiger. (Lucky Git)

LOL! What a mong, shame as that is quite a nice one.

Could be, I think it's more likely the shell was a full 88/89 3.5 Vogue SE though. As you say if the DVLA are happy then who cares! 8)
