No idea what these are actually worth (in fact I was unaware that they were even a thing until just now), but I wouldn't have thought the supply / demand balance was in the seller's favour.

I've never understood old Land Rover love - even newer ones are miserable. I'd rather have a Hilux!

Liked, and I own 2.

It has light damage to the wishbone mounting points,

Worth every penny. If those pennies were in fact flattened rabbit turds.

This is the degree to which I restored my first Imperials. I soon found out, that this isn't what I want to do with my cars.

Once this level of resto quality is achieved, the car is neither authentic, I mean, they weren't that good from the factory,

nor do you anymore enjoy driving it.

You have built, in essence, a trailer queen.

I learned from this and then restored cars only to the degree that they can still be driven, since this is what a car is all about, innitt?

However, I never ever made the mistake many people make, which is:

Cost of buying the car + cost of restoration = market value

It just doesn't bloody work that way, m8!

Nowadays, I have modified my outlook altogether:

Let an old car just be an old car.

If you don't really want an old car, steer clear of it and lease a new one.

Pub talk is that it used to be:

Cost of buying the car + cost of restoration = market value * 4

Now it's nearer to:

Cost of buying the car + cost of restoration = market value * 5

Only 8 Bags

No idea what the amber beacon is for except to warn others of the speshalness of the owner/driver
