I've been doing a study on this blighter

princess_klassieker_hfd.jpg  < when interviewed for Dutch magazine in 2009

He said he chose the car over the SD1 as it was for business use and didn't want to be 'too flashy'.  He drove it over to Torcars to be converted and repainted while on holiday in UK.

He looks like my old boss, Lenny Vale.

I drove an artic for him between 1976 and 1981.

While I was there, he bought himself a brand spanking new top of the range Marina.

Wonder if the car is still alive?

I shouldn't think old Lenny is.

Let me guess "which is nothing for one of these engines "

This Granny estate for £750 does seem a genuine decent deal. Mot has lapsed, but doesn't sound like it needs too much. I really, really hope a decent buyer snaps it up before a banger knob comes along with a trailer.

Double ironic bluff or mistake ? If not the first time an AS member has had his car in this thread.

So it's that or a 911 GT3, then?

Mk4 estates are rare ,but when they do come up they only make £2/3000 , OSF tax hasn't hit these yet, there have been ten or a dozen Mk4s including 2 or 3 estates in the eBay thread this year many of which looked as good or better than this , I doubt if any of them made more than half of what this ones up for.

Ironic when you think that in the pilot of The Sweeney, Regan had a blue Zodiac, yet it's The Sweeney effect that makes Mk1 Granada's worth 4 times a Flying Pig.

There was a White Farnham in Basildon for a while - in isolation they still look HUUUUGE,but once you see a Mongdano parked next to it, the perspective is weird.

Deffo would though.

This is lovely. It's a shame Secret Santa 2016 isn't here yet, as this honey* would be a fiver well spent. I believe I've seen it on the pervnet before, but not in a for sale format.

"THIS IS BUILT WITH MIXTURE OF OLD CAR PANELS AND FIBERGLASS AND FOAM WITH RETRO LIGHTS AND FINS ON THE BACK.

SOUNDS GOOD TOO AS EXHAUST IS LITTLE MODIFIED TO SOUND LOUDER AND HYDRAULIC SUSPENSION TO SIMULATE AIR RIDE SO YOU CAN SET THE HIEGHT FOR THE LOOK."

To be fair, I'm not sure I'd advertise the fact that foam is one of the active ingredients which has helped to produce this beauty. I've just had a quick look at the MOT history as well, and apparently it was advised as having 'exhaust noisy'. Did the tester not realise it's been modified to sound louder?

My main question though, is what is the fate of the Largooner in the background? Maybe he'll turn that into a boat with its own integral trailer.

Would put the ebay link to it here, but my new laptop seems incapable of copying and pasting!

On this one it doesn't matter if it has an engine or not. I've driven one. They'll barely get out of their own way!

How about this for a mark-up

So has the seller had any work done on the "restoration", or was it done before he/she won it at auction? I'd like to see the bills for it.

Fair play to them for trying

I'm sure Asda, PC World etc and all other businesses sell everything at cost price... ☺

Asda have a massive national logistics network that allows thousands of people to buy a single pint of fresh milk off them from a shop just a few miles from their home for a matter of a few pence. They don't buy a pint of milk at public auction then immediately offer it untouched for 3 times the price.

I read something the other day apparently as of last October they "improved" consumer rights laws. Now if you are a motor trader you have to give a 30 day money back warrenty. Not just say we will sort that out but if for any reason you are unhappy they have to refund in full. It's a shame Xtriple didn't know about this with the Bentley. It certainly puts me off selling cars when everyone is an expert and wants to pay less than trade money for a car but still expects these "rights"
