Seller notes: “SMALL SCRATCH ON DRIVER SIDE - AT THE MOST £150 NEEDS NEW BRAKE CALIPERS - £79 EACH X2AIR CONDITIONING NEEDS TO BE RE-GASSED (KWIK FIT WILL DO FOR £50 APRIL ONWARD)â€Â

Well it's only £8.5k so I suppose those small jobs can wait for the new owner

Seems this is listed as "for spares only"

Spare what precisely?

Looks like a Russian space probe that never made orbit.

it 'sold' previously for over £1200.

I see £300 in the aluminium window frame and a hundred quid in the rest of it - maybe more if it was clean and separate from the rust.

I know overpriced Minis are no longer newsworthy here but seeing this just made me a little sick once again at selling my fully MOT'd un-restored Mk1 for less than half that 12 years ago.

The annoying thing is he'll probably get close to that for it, especially as being a '59 you can just stick an engine in and away you go.

Still you could buy it, spend £10k on a restoration and have a much more desirable and valuable piece of motoring history than if you bought this which will no doubt still need a full mechanical overhaul having only done 182 miles in its lifetime:

My neighbour had the remains of a '69 Cooper sat in the field behind his place. It had been stripped out many years ago and most of the bits were in his barn. The shell was utterly fubar with no floor at all. Even the parcel shelf had completely rotted away. Recently some fella offered him £4500 for it! All credit to the bloke, he is actually rebuilding the shell rather than ringing another one.

I can appreciate a nice old Orion. But £7000???? What fucking planet is the guy on????

NON RUNNER AS WE HAVEN'T TRIED AND HAVEN'T GOT THE TIME

IN NEED OF COMPLETE RESTORATION.

And its £1995, You can get one that works, and doesn't look like one of King Kongs suppositories for that money.

That's the worst mk 2 I've seen - possibly.

I bet the camera flash caused the door to come off.

Have you seen the Orange RS2 on RRides?

The Titanic has less rust on it !

WE GENUINELY FEEL THIS IS ABOUT AS RARE AS IT GETS TO PURCHASE SUCH AN EXAMPLE

It's a 81000 mile Sierra, hardly anything that special.

ALWAYS ONE OF THE CHEAPEST ON AUTOTRADER, £10,000

O'RLLY.

Its a clean one, I wonder how much they bought it for 2-3k?

That black Sierra..

Didnt all ford XR's of that era have a red or blue strip running round the bumpers and side rubbing strips? This car is defo lacking something and I think its that, it just looks too black.

Yes its clean, but not £10,000 clean.

Bless these dealers and their ever hopeful little minds of MEGAPROFIT for stuff that isnt even in major demand.

IIRC that was only the XR4i, 3 door six window biplane jobby whatsit.

One of our neighbours had an XR4x4 just like that, from that year,(89?) when I was a kid. It had a blue insert on the bumpers and rubbing strip. His wife had an RS Turbo, bought the same day.

I hated that family. :-D

I think higher end sierras could also be had with a chrome strip in the bumper. mine were all basic ones and had the red stripe.
