If you're going to insist on quoting a spam post, can you at least delete the link?

Tiger , 1959, mechanicaley excellent, with unmarked leather interior. Only e-mail with full address.

For £215,000 I would want a better description than this AND more than two photos of the outside!

No need to look as that is the entire advert!

Consider me chastised.

It's pointless suggesting anything like that on here, check out the eBay thread for confirmation of this.

But may god bless you for persevering nonetheless young William, the word 'hero' is often over-used but without your seamless ability to combine apples with oranges where would we be?

Aye, about as 'slightly bent' as Julian Clary.....Doesn't even look like it was that great before it fell off the trailer....

Nick, this thread is for finds that are overpriced, like Austin Metros for £4000 that kind of thing, if your postinh just interesting normal cars then there's a ebay thread for that. ;)

looking at the three links he provided - i think he has the right idea

^^

This.

£4250 for a fuggin Nissan Cherry is certainly far enough out of touch with reality to qualify for this here thread.

If I was made of money, this is exactly the type of thing I would fill up my huge garage with.

Love that interior:

I won't argue for a second that it is a desirable piece of shite, but the seller has obviously made a mistake converting Yen to Sterling.

Posted

Agreed, big money but it's a tough one really.

What would it be worth, in that condition, in say another decade?

Posted

Say, in the last decade? About 85 quid.

What is it really worth now?

Whatever the final bid is when you list it on Ebay for £0.99 starting price.

I wouldn't expect it to crack the four figure barrier though, there is absolutely zero collector interest in this kind of chod.

Any Allegro will yield a better ROI in the next decade.

i agree, 4K for a cherry is a bit optimistic (sorry i mean alot optimistic) but its the last one. and considering that there are no alfa arnas left taxed, this is quite an attractive deal. but 4 grand is WAY too much

anyway if this tread is for overpriced cars take a look at this

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C143822

a SD1 for £6950! not even uk spec. now that is the definition of a joke

 but its the last one.

I don't think it is, IIRC RatDat was selling one the other week which I posted in the tat thread. although not on the road, it still exists.

I really don't get this ultra low mileage "scene tax" at all. It renders the car in question pretty much undriveable [unless, ahem, you disconnect the speedo..............] as it's value will plummet rapidly............

Posted

I get it, its obvious, the better condition its in, the more the asking price, and if its really exceptionally smart and low mileage you can ask an exceptional price for it, thats it really.

Posted

As Bollox says up to a point, but I do seriously wonder about people who'll pay way over the odds for something with delivery mileage, or sub-10,000 miles. Yes, it might be in exceptional condition, but what do you do with it? A pretty boring way of filling your garage.

Sometimes the joy is just in owning them innit. I am well happy at the thought of my barn full of old shit even though I only see it once a year. If I had tht Civic I would just look at it and admire how it had made it this far without being knackered like every othe one.

S'pose I might be like that if I actually had some good, dry storage. As it is, I'd just be fretting about ruining something nice.
