Well, you did ask:

So basically that's nine times since the 6th March with prices from £700 to £500, three months of pissing about and about £20 up the shitter to advertise a £180 car for 3 times or more it's value.

*One of the above links may be a repeat of another but it has been listed nine times.

I thought it cost a lot more than £2.27 to list a car for £500

Do you put petrol in it or feed it lettuce?

iirc ebay makes most of its money from car auctions via final value fees

Over 100 watchers last time eh?

THE POSTMAN ALWAYS BRINGS MICE

'Have you got some post for me?'

'Yes I have.'

'Ooh, perhaps it'll be a letter from my daughter, I haven't heard from her since she had the baby.'

'Sorry, it's mice again I'm afraid.'

Curious about the legality of this horror in the UK, I emailed TATA Motors and asked if it met UK legislation for road vehicles, be interesting to see what they say in reply...

Here's their reply.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your interest in the Tata Nano.

We regret to inform you that currently we have no plans to bring the Nano to UK.

We have commenced the export of the Nano to right hand driving countries neighbouring India such as Nepal & Sri Lanka. We will be coming up with Left hand version soon but it will not be configured according to UK requirements.

Best Regards

Regarding that Peugeot. To advertise a car with no reserve costs £10.00, if the car doesn't sell then a second listing is free but only if it sells that time.If you revise the listing like he has with the price then each time is ten quid a pop.

A standard listing is ten quid add to that a reserve which is £7.99 then a final value fee of another £20.00 makes a reserve auction an expensive way to (maybe) sell a car.

*also*

I just want to see him explode. The next time you see that car, it'll have been listed by his nan with no reserve after laddo was taken away after being found half naked in the town centre, swearing at street furniture and claiming that there's people hiding under the floor watching him.

Hi, first what exactly is the handbrake problem in this car? I can't quite work out from the advert.

Also, would you be prepared to drop the price to £400BIN if you put 12 months MOT on it (they should fix your handbrake then)? Only there are loads more great 405s on ebay (such as this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-405-1 ... 500wt_1362 ) at that price, but with MOTs, bigger boots and the more economical diesel engine. Your car looks smashing but I just think it's a bit pricey for what it is.

Thanks

Will

It needs a new handbrake cable

No I won't take £400 like I said I am unemployed. If I had the money obviously she would have an MOT.

I wonder if he's giving equally terse and vague answers to all* interested parties

*i.e. people on here trying to wind him up

That Tata Nano ad stinks of a scam to me

The land line number is the classified ad line at the Birmingham Post...

Your question couldn't have been more reasonable, will, and his response to it was 100% twattish.

I think I may have cracked it with this fella. Just noticed he keeps referring to this car as 'she'. Reckon they're in love and he can't bear to part with her, despite her being disfigured by her broken handbrake cable.

I agree, it was a perfectly reasonable question, and a sound bit of advice on how to shift the car quicker. Wasn't like you just sent the generic "Hi m8 wud you take £0.73 collect 2nite?".

No doubt it'll never sell, and he'll spend the rest of his life telling everyone that ebay is full of idiots because nobody bought his overpriced big petrol car sans mot.

I can’t understand why he doesn’t ask for £1500, lets be honest if he’s unemployed he could do with the money alright.

How much?

For a non MOT'd "Style"?

Judging by its rarity (let's face it, any mk1 Uno is rare) and if the work's been properly done, that's not bad.

Afraid you might have been out trumped there:

Q) Ive got one of these cars and they're brilliant. I paid £1,095 for it three months ago and it was well worth the money. I did wonder if your's was so cheap that people thought something major was wrong with it (I think it's an absolute bargain by the way) so perhaps it'd be worth starting it at a higher price then adding a 'submit best offer' option? Anyhow good luck with it, it looks great and is well worth the money. If I didn't have one already I'd buy it.

A) Glad your happy with your 405. Cheers for your message I thought you was going to be another person offering me stupid money. Just yesterday I was offered £400 and others include £250 and saying only worth scrap value. But I am glad some body knows why I have set the price at that. By the way could you tell me how I could put the submit best offer option please as I don't know how to do it. Thanks again.

Oh dear. I suspect there'll be a skint Welshman getting very irate shortly.

Having said that, it pissed me off when I had 150 watchers on the 604 and no real bids.

For his own sake, don't...

"I will only accept offers ABOVE the listed price as this is the minimum i will take for it. This is because I am unemployed. It is a GREAT car and worth much more than I am asking! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!" etc.

In ten years time people might be saying that about the 405 1.6 Style. Think about that.
