He's got a few...err...optimistic prices on his site. How about 4 large for a 2002 Perodua Kenari 1.0

That BMW was being advertised locally (with the same photo) something like four years ago I reckon. As was the black MG beside it. I'm sure they were asking less (but not much less) back then. I guess the prices have had to go up to cover storage for all that time? :?

this has just gone up - but with a starting price of £450 I suspect the reserve will be high

lovely example - you just don't see em anymore - I had one in the early '90s and thought at the time it was desperate - but - it never ever let me down was vey cheap to run and even when first made was past it...

lovely - look at that interior!

There is no reserve on this item

Seems reasonably priced then, with a year's MoT. Beware of the head gasket and rotten rear inner arches though.

yeah - mind you this one looks like a minter - no reserve as well..must keep away from the red wine and ebay tonight!!

The seller's offer to "attend the squealing fan belt with a squirt of WD40" doesn't inspire confidence......

And probably great for getting pulled by VOSA too I'd think....

I can't see it in a MK3 Fred but stranger things have happened I suppose. That really must be at least £2,000 more than it's actually worth.*Double roflcopter at the second picture in the listing, the arse of that truck must be scraping the floor?

Weren't the early Mk3s also notoriously bad for chassis rot? Only ever drove one four speed with overdrive model and we used to take it in turns trying to break it. Or not use it at all so we used more fuel to get more Tiger tokens :D In fairness though I'm a HUGE fan of the 2.5DI engines, brilliant things.

What is it with old Fords?

If you asked this cash for a 205GTi or even a Golf in similar order/mileage (both examples of better small performance cars) you'd be laughed right out of town.

Should I be putting Mrs_Pog's car in a hypobaric chamber worthy of the late not-great M.Jackson and make a killing come retirement?

There's a chap not far from me who has the full set of RS Fords up to the Escort Cosworth. All as new. All with under 500 miles on the clock, he's bought them all brand new (he worked for Ford at Halewood from the late '60s until not long ago). They only go out of storage for the MOT every year, and to do that he has to knock a wall down to get 'em out. Books the MOT station up for 2 days in late July. Cancels if it rains or if the roads are damp.I met him during one of his MOT days in the late 90's and thought he was insane. Why would you buy a brand new RS and then never use it? I couldn't do that with one of them, never mind with 15 or so.I have a sneaky suspicion that I may well have been very wrong about him being insane - every single thing in his garage has to be worth considerably more than £25k.It's still a bit of a weird thing to do though.

No i wouldnt say that he could have invested his money in shares instead but they just dont have the same good feeling when you open them up and have a look at them :) if i could afford a big enough garage i would collect full size cars too as probably most off the people on here would do if they had the chance.

Yeah, I'd have a garage full of old cars, but I'd drive them all! Have to congratulate the guy on his far-sightedness, but what's he going to do now? Keep them for ever and admire them, or actually sell them and realise his investment?

You'd have to be a complete dolt to hire anything for £19000 a day, never mind a Veyron.

Posted

I'm trying to work out whether I could get through £19000 worth of top class call girls and cocaine in a day. Probably not.

Posted

I would tend to think that the likelihood of some used car lot in Bradford having access to a Veyron to be quite small and that its more a bit of a publicity stunt to get people looking at their used car stock tbh...

Make that 69k's of damage to take account of your deposit. How does someone who makes a living selling old Ford Galaxies etc get to rent out this type of thing?

Posted

Do we have an Autoshite correspondent in the area to look into this?

Posted

19K.....? thats probably my car purchasing budget for the rest of my life.... :D

Then live tomorrow like it was your last!:lol::lol:

£100 a day!!!! LOL! What a joke. For £100 I would want custody of that for at least 2 months.
