Junkman Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 So lets see... - Own philosophy: check- Own forum: check- Own terminology: check- Own sticker: check Yes, Autoshite is most defintely a scene. Also, this is a scene: This is a scene: This is a scene: This is a scene: Man, I'm a scene twat on so many levels, I don't know what life is like without one. eddyramrod 1
John F Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Not really. We've got lots of philosophies, at least two forums (this one and at least one emergency forum), OK - we do have some on-forum terminology, I'll give you that, but the sticker isn't mandatory and even the RNLI have stickers and I don't think they're 'scene'. eddyramrod 1
tooSavvy Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 have this to brighten your day ... did I not hear that 'rescue services' have training to ensure their 'MrMuscle' powapak cutters don't go through the 220V Motor feed on 'bent' pri-iie?? tooSavvy sutty2006, brickwall and fordperv 3

Micrashed Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 220v isnt that bad (from someone who has had more 240v jolts than is good for him), Unless its DC. Then it hurts.
crapcarcollector Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Meanwhile back in Scene land I spotted this MK 3 fezza at a Cyder Farm in Cornwall on my jollies this year. It made me smile. Sent from my Nokia 3310 using the force.
Jim Bell Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 We've got lots of philosophies People who molest children??!! Oh, hang on. Think my dyslexia just kicked in yo.

Spiny Norman Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Autoshite isn't a scene. If our cars are rusty it's because they're old and a bit shit. If our cars are slammed it's because the Hydrogas needs pumping up, our spring hangers have rusted away, or our old Citroens are suffering from OMGFROGGYELECTRIKALZ and haven't been run all week. And if anyone on AS has a roofrack it's because they're going on holibags and the boot is full of essential spares. Mog and catsinthewelder 2

Jim Bell Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Autoshite isn't a scene. If our cars are rusty it's because they're old and a bit shit. So a scene where some peoples cars are a bit rusty because theyre old and shit? Scene (sn)n.1. Something seen by a viewer; a view or many views.2. The place where an action or event occurs..3. The place in which the action of a play, movie, novel, or other action relating to usually unloved vehicular preservation and use occurs; a setting. 4. A real or fictitious episode, especially when described.5. A public display of passion or temper.6. A sphere of activity.7. Slang. A situation or set of circumstances: a groovy scene; a wild scene. All sounds relevant to me. Junkman 1
Spiny Norman Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 All sounds relevant to me. Can't make head nor tail of whatever point you're trying to make, sorry, and my post was intended to be in jest but if you want to go quoting dictionary definitions of 'scene' to support your argument then yeah, you've proved the point.

One American firefighter went through the high voltage cables in an attempt to secure the security of the crashed vehicle. [LOL]
Split_Pin Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Every group of people who have a common interest could be thought of as being part of a scene. Just because one car movement generates a more ostentatious style of vehicle, they get labeled as mongs. Autoshite is a scene, a movement. Vauxhall are shit, we don't talk about J reg Protons and the rescue of some unloved old crock makes a great thread.
brickwall Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Yeah, but to me there is a scene and there are Scenes that are strictly fashionable and current. It's a bit like cult films in a way, or underwater hot-air ballooning, as some may see it.
oldford Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Being scene isn't an excuse to have a car on the road which is deliberately modified so as to put other road users in danger. Dodgy cambers, strectched tyres, blacked out rear lights, lack of suspension movement and any other stupid thing that they can think of. sutty2006 1

srad34 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I just googled Bosozuku. What a load of crazy shit, like something from cartoons!

Vauxhall are shit, we don't talk about J reg Protons and the rescue of some unloved old crock makes a great thread. You're over-thinking this. Are e.g. every group of friends that share common interests and have 'in jokes' a scene? Of course not. Besides, IMO some Vauxhalls are ace, only one glass-licking mongtard in here ever wanted to talk about J reg. Protons and quite a few unloved old crocks leave me stone cold, especially if they're some dismal piece of '70s BL shit. We're not all the same, and let's be thankful for that.
Pillock Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 220v isnt that bad (from someone who has had more 240v jolts than is good for him), Unless its DC. Then it hurts. It's not the voltage that kills you, or the current type. It's the amount of energy in reserve. A static shock is 30,000 volts but has a tiny amount of energy reserve. OTOH, 3v with just a low current capability, and lots of coulombs of backup, will stop your heart. DC encourages muscles to "grab" meaning a shock is prolonged. AC is a throw-off reaction which is one of the reasons it was chosen as the household supply. saucedoctor 1
HillmanImp Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Have we had this yet? Cant be arsed to look. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-BMW-316-IS-E36-Rat-Car-Deathrace-Mad-Max-Themed-Movie-/171150698985 This is a Themed Movie Car, Deathrace/Mad Max style. Car is surprisingly despite the looks is well maintained mechanically while the look is done on purpose to fit the theme its going in.
sheffcortinacentre Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 i stopped going on RR due to this stuff & haveing the attitude about it being dangerous, i tend to not fit in any "scene" as i like allsorts std & modded .but my V8 mk3 isn't wild/uptodate enough for the modded crowd & the opposite for the flatcap & driveing gloves & my mk3 bakkie & mk5 crayford aren't concours enough etc. this is why i like the motornutz club they are just happy if your into fun with cars.
