At 7:35am....

I'm sure that I've not mentioned shitting at 07:35 for days, has it stuck in everyones mind?

There are even hot-air hand dryers.

& I'd just like to point out that I can't remember the last time I shat on my hand...

It's certainly stuck in my mind! Enough for me to make sure I don't get in your way at 7:34 AM anyway...

I don't mind crimping one off in a nearby feild, or pissing on some rusty FSO.

Its only what the wildlife do anyway.

I shall book a portaloo. Had a chat with the chap who lives opposite the field. He gets a great view of the Field of Dreams but seems nicely relaxed about it. From his vantage point, we've got LOADS of space!

Can I all politely request that queuing for all the dunnys - both porta and hotel - commence at approximately 7.20am to ensure that Mr Foot has to shit in the hedge? ;)

Had I just stumbled across this forum, and merely read the thread title with the latest post, I might have got a very different idea indeed about what this event is all about.

Found myself hurtling towards Aberaeron today, so thought I'd recce a nice route for the Saturday night convoy. Loads of shite to spot, entertaining roads and a fair few epic views. Time taken driving at full pelt in the 2CV - 45 minutes. Time taken driving back getting stuck behind trucks and farm wagons - 45 minutes. That doesn't seem to make any sense.

After filling up with chips and seaside views in Aberaeron, it's another ten minutes to the Internal Fire museum. We're going to be out for a while on Saturday night, as serving a huge queue of people isn't going to happen instantly I suspect.

Some Aberaeron scenery.

This view would look better with older Volvos in it

Unless you have to travel at full pelt in a 2CV to keep up with trucks and farm wagons?

(And I know you don't!)

I was full of hope for attending Shitefest 2014 and doing an epic car exchange.  I do begin to worry that I don't have enough time now to get everything sorted and there's an increasing chance of diminishing funds putting an end to playtime too.  I seem to have forgotten there are only 24 hours in a day.

Aye. I've got to get the 2CV MOTd in the next couple of weeks. I'm seriously hoping it doesn't need much (other than the welding its going in for tomorrow). Hope you can make it Vulg, but I won't hold it against you if events conspire against you. That'd be silly.

Mat - I did get left behind by an empty hay wagon on a really steep climb. Turbocharger wins over light weight it seems. I suspect the truck had rather more than 29lb/ft of torque.

Nearer the time I'll try and get a list together of who's willing to drive on the Saturday night, and how many people are actually going to turn up.

My dad his prepping his mk1 povo spec bx so he can come . Laid up for about 12 years so wcpgw

I am not willing to drive on Saturday night, hope this helps.

Hopefully you're not alone, as leading a convoy of loads of cars will be a nightmare and will cause parking problems too.

There is one very steep descent on the route. When I pointed this out to Mrs Wobbler, she asked: "Do you really want to lead a convoy of shite old cars down a steep hill?" Please ensure your brakes are in top order.

You did the anchors on the car I'm bringing...

Is that a hint to those who will be convoying about 350miles across 2 borders?

If anyone has any need for it I can bring my diagnostic machine to do plug ins / resets in exchange for beer. Will do most cars that have a 16 pin connector apart from Saabs . Does eng mgt , airbag , abs etc etc

Is anyone coming from the Bristol/Wells area to Shitefest?

I have 'won' a thing on Ebay there. If anyone could collect it I would be eternally grateful (and would happily pay petrol costs etc).

Otherwise I'll just have to do a massive detour on the way, which would be INCONVENIENT.

It's a load of magazines, so you could even have free reading material for 6 weeks...
