So Sunday was the Nationals again up the road from me, every year we get quite a diverse selection of cars turn up, this year wasn't quite as good sadly mostly due to the shoddy weather on Saturday putting people off plus there was quite a bit of modern stuff.

 

 

This Rambler was actually covered in grease...

Then the council estate Cortinas arrived.

 

 

This was a Canadian imported A40.

WTF!, I loved the look of this but what a miss mash, even the steering wheel was a modern Hyundai one with a modern dash.

My mate won the burn out competition on Saturday in this, He won some new tyres fortunately.

This 740 was mega, only 14000 miles from new and it was meint, and so, so 80's!.

 

 

Same owner also owns this tidy Sierra.

This Rover 216 was for sale but the arches looked a bit iffy, as did all the aerosol repairs.

I think it was a replica, there used to be one like that which drove around Colchester at night creeping people out but that was based on a Mk1 Granada, it still looked the part though.

That beavertail truck looks like a Chevy(?) cab on a modern(ish) chassis, possibly Iveco.

Some of those cars have been absolutely ruined, the corsair etc. it always makes me laugh that people think they can 'improve' on the original car design by lowering the suspension and painting flames on the side. Awful.
