ShiteRider Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I love Autoshite, it's a fun, interesting place to be. I think we can all agree on that ...more or less.Unfortunately this place is becoming mired down in a quicksand of bollocks, some recent threads have not only gone off on a tangent, but have been made into sounding boards for keyboard warriors and shit stirrers who seem to only post to antagonise and complain about thread content (whilst adding nothing of value) or about levels of moderation (if spam appears MODS need to pull their thumb out, if a thread gets locked they're kitten raping nun murderers). What i'm proposing is a loose set of guidelines, an autoshiters code of conduct if you will, that we all vote for via poll and can then be sticky'd and referred to when someone is being dick.....I'll go first; If you don't like a thread or are pretty certain it will piss you off, don't read it! (seems obvious, but the amount of people who complain about threads being crap/boring/there's no pictures etc is dissappointingly high). This may seem a waste of time to many, but i enjoy this site. It's given me and many others hours of free entertainment but (to me aleast) it seems to be dying on it's arse and i'm just trying to do something to stop it..... John F Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 The site isn't dying, the toys out of pram thing happens every now and then. And I like the fact the site isn't 'gardened' to suit the taste of a few people. I'd summarise site guidelines as "don't be a twat", and I wholeheartedly agree that people should just NOT READ, AND ESPECIALLY NOT COMMENT ON threads they don't like. And if they even think of running crying to the site moderators about threads they don't like they need to grow a pair and give themselves a slap. maxpower, DVee8, Wilko220 and 5 others 8

Station Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Thought the recent Merc for sale thread was hilarious but no doubt had some people angered or whatever.I think no polls just keep it as it is and no further threads about what is becoming of the place. Wilko220 1
trigger Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 This is all pointless anyway as we don't have any mods anymore. Cavcraft 1

ShiteRider Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 Seems this thread irrelevent then. It was just idea, obviously a shit one to some people as are many of mine.An yes autofive, i am a snotty first year.....

freebird Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Ooooh, someone has a high opinion of themselves. Go you, brother! Fight the power! Those boring cunts will never understand what you're trying to transmit. Well you may not but, Im sure, others will.I didnt post that to have a fight with anybody but If some keyboard warrior wishes to disect it, thats fine.Just not you fella, you are not up to it, ok?By the way, were you one of the ones that went whinging to the Mods?Just wondering, you come across as a bit sly. oman5 1
CortinaDave Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Lets just move on. The endless discussing of the whys and wherefores of the recent issues is only going to further wind up those who are disgruntled already. For my money, the sooner we get back to talking shit old cars rather than keeping on about this the better Analysing it all will just lead to more folk getting upset... It's just not worth it Lets just be friends again. Luxobarges_Are_Us, John F, Cavcraft and 3 others 6

warren t claim Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I don't post on here as much as I used to although I do look in to see what's going on most days. To me AS has become my internet equivalent of watching The Simpsons, something I used to avidly do but now I'll only tune into is I haven't got anything better to do. I'm sure as hell not going to delete my membership of AS and in my mind there's nothing worse than a member bitching and saying that they're going to leave, it's the internet, nobody cares! Anyway, I don't even have a car at the moment so I'm not in a position to comment.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Locost forums? I knew they'd get desperate when they ran out of Sierras, but wow.
HillmanImp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 People have been complaining about the decline of the forum since 2006. This thread is dedicated to Mark E. Smith out of The Fall who, during an interview in 1986, became the first man in history to point out that Autoshite was not as good as it used to be. Luxobarges_Are_Us, scruff, loserone and 1 other 4
Pillock Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Autoshite is still as good as it always was. Given that it's always been on the verge of a massive falling-out, with banger racing threads and ALL THINGS YOU LIKE ARE SHIT threads and whatnot.... it's not got any worse. It's just not got any better. scruff and pandamonium 2
pandamonium Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 This forum is just like the cars we love - a bit shit, full of faults and will probably never be perfect / finished / fixed. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm off to find out why my Lada runs on 3 - 3.5 cylinders and drink a redex/wd40 cocktail while whinging about the immigrating horse meat lasagnes.
Cavcraft Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Anyway, I don't even have a green Peugeot 406 2.0 petrol saloon at the moment so I'm not in a position to comment. That could easily be sorted by text messaging CavCraft.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Every internet community I've ever seen, big or small, has been a powder keg with members falling out left right and centre and disputes over moderation and management. I think it's just a lot more noticeable on smaller forums like this one. Important thing is not to let it destroy the community, judicious use of the ignore button helps here.
