Bucketeer Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Yes we do, sort of. As you can probably see it's not very strict though. Solid sills especially are viewed as a luxury.
Magnificent Rustbucket Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 This is a superb thread - and not just for the cars; for the atmosphere of the place. Bucketeer, AMC Rebel and chaseracer 3
hairnet Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 how screwed would the weather be in november??
Junkman Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 How much you said is postage to that Land of Eng?
Bucketeer Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Mr Rustybucket - Thanks very much. I do try and give a feel for the location as well as just spotting, with varying success. Hairnet - November is usually pretty nice. We often get an Indian summer around then but that's not a definite. It can be 30degrees one day and snowing thhe next. Are you coming over? Junkman - You qualify for the special introductory Junkman offer of standard price plus 50%. Junkman 1
Split_Pin Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 What a cracking wee place with plenty of bonne-chaude at every corner. Love all the shonky Moskviches.
Bucketeer Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 Last few spots from the last day or two. I won't be around here for a while so I may as well post them now, keep up to date. I may even have spotted some before but after 24 pages it gets tricky to remember. I've seen this next thing about a couple of times. What does it do? Any ideas? garethj, Spottedlaurel, catsinthewelder and 3 others 6
NorfolkNWeigh Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Is your roof space lodger a glisglis otherwise known as an edible dormouse ?And more importantly, do all the railway staff look like that? Bucketeer and mercrocker 2
Junkman Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 It's a pneumatic road roller for compacting fresh tarmac.100% German origin, most likely a Hamm or Zettelmayer. anonymous user, AMC Rebel, Bucketeer and 1 other 4
AMC Rebel Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Brilliant thread. Southern Rail (thankfully I don't have to go near it) would surely be cheered up no end if they had staff like that? I agree with your comments about a lot of Brit expats BTW - where my folks place in France is there are some terrible Brits. Bucketeer 1
AMC Rebel Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 It's a pneumatic road roller for compacting fresh tarmac.100% German origin, most likely a Hamm or Zettelmayer. This place rocks!!!
Bucketeer Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 My first thought was some kind of road roller affair but the gaps between the tyres put me off that idea. Pondering it some more, maybe the rear four tyres are aligned with the gaps in the front four tyres. Who knows. Actually Junkman probably knows, to answer my own rhetorical question.A large percentage of the rail staff are like that, ie; ladies of a certain vintage with dyed blonde hair and skirts of restricted height. An edible dormouse sounds like exactly what it could be. One question though, is that edible for humans?
Ghosty Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Hey, at least it doesn't have a green light on it!
Bucketeer Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 I mentioned several weeks ago that I was leaving AS but I've had a bunch of two requests to keep this old crock of a thread going so here I am, back again like a hard to shift tickly cough or pubic lice.I still can't justify stoking up the boiler of my Victorian mobile phone and trekking round the mountains trying to get a signal just to come on here and spend half an hour sifting through a river of sludge before finding a golden nugget so don't worry, I'll be slipping back out again as swiftly as I returned, leaving no trace except for this post. And possibly a nasty itch. Anyway, spots. My cock was a hoop at seeing the blue Volga pick up again.I still haven't managed to find the owner yet to have a chat about it but when I do I'll obviously ask him if it's a home made pick up conversion, if he'll sell it to me cheap and if he'll adopt me. 'Cos it's ace. This Colt looks like it would be a barrel of fun to drive for the half a mile or so it would get you down the road before disintegrating. I keep returning to this place where I have previously papped the ZAZ 968 'cos there always seems to be something new on offer. This time the ZAZ is flanked by Ronnie and Sue, the two Barkas'. *SPOILER ALERT* Drink in the misery. Another previous spot here that warranted a second/better picture. My american car knowledge varies between zero and pitiful so as usual I'm just gonna guess what this is. I reckon it looks like it would be called the Chrysler Daterape or summat. More rubbish that I've run out of time to caption. That's it for now.Baby Glis Glis sez C U L8ER. mercrocker, worldofceri, dollywobbler and 21 others 24

mercrocker Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I'm rather liking the little car hiding in the trees by the Trabant and Safrane. Is it a Fiat 1100? That will be the Moskvich I liked.... Junkman 1
