Wilko220 Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 OOOH I still really want one of these. Whats the cambelt situation? He'll correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure - but from memory, I believe Ruffgeezer did the cam belt not long before he sold the van to me. So about four years and 3,000 miles ago.
Guest Lord Sward Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 I remember when Unipart/Express Factors delivered all of our Rover parts in these, replacing the dear old Maestro. Wilko220 1
Six-cylinder Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 That looks great, but after a long argument with myself I can't work out why I need a second C15! Jim Bell and Wilko220 2

beko1987 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 The cambelt will take 5 minutes with a screwdriver and spanner wont it on one of these?
Jim Bell Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I think you can do it with the engine running like a Beetle belt. Fabergé Greggs and loserone 2
bub2006 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Cambelt looked to be a pain in the arse on these. The engine mount has to come off but was tricky due to the inner wing mounting not being removable. I paid daveaspley to do it. For what it's worth though the van looks in OK nick so worth doing.
Fabergé Greggs Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 How much did it cost to have the belt done?
strangeangel Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I paid 100 quid +1 much the same here, so shouldn't be a deal breaker. Jim Bell 1
bub2006 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I've noticed 3 of these local to me. Never noticed them before but that's always the way. Also have been given a tip off that there is a breakers yard near Burton with 7 in at the minute. Guy who told me is the mother in laws fella, said a few came from his company a while back. I'll follow up the lead and if it's a good one I'll pass info on for bits needed
purplebargeken Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 These are ace, they even came with a factory fitted tidemark round the front end. What's not to love!!! Wilko220 1

New POD Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 That looks great, but after a long argument with myself I can't work out why I need a second C15! That's the problem with Autoshite and the Raffles in particular. I can't see why I'd need a C15, (or a LHD Visa for that matter), I have no space for it, can't think how my life would be improved by it (apart from that any vehicle is going to be better on fuel than an MV6) , know that my marriage would suffer immeasurably, and yet I'm sure it would be a life. purplebargeken Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I have much horniness for this. No idea why, just do. Jim Bell 1
DVee8 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I may pop my roffle cherry for this. scruff 1
Guest Lord Sward Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I'd have DEFINITELY bought this if only I hadn't just given up smoking Gauloises. Wilko220 1
anonymous user Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 This could be just what I need*, I shall have to check whether LV will cover it (I have a spare NCB with them at the moment), so put me down as a seriously interested party. stephen01 and Six-cylinder 2
Wilko220 Posted December 16, 2016 Author Posted December 16, 2016 Thanks for all the interest, but no roffle this time I'm afraid. The van is now to Anonymous User. Christmas collection thread to follow in the next few days, no doubt. Cavcraft, The Moog, egg and 7 others 10
