A brace of Lotuses in Wells this morning and a nice old ovlov just down the road obviously owned by a religious nut going by the sign in the window.cd012995234bc95aeece6dab11995e64.jpg6940d50096ffa66ffb70e4a463878df9.jpg66827aa2f4d48b70f5a7383271f0b413.jpg11eb4151621f192e9d25acbed830d62a.jpge4902326f2c92271b0cdde97d8001cf9.jpg

(gotta love Wells tho.)

This is a street or two away from me, Auto, giffer owned, on my street 'watchlist'...

(With the two digit number plate, probably has Wobbler appeal)

Bit of a cheating Spot really as it's at a local show today.....Could not resist the symmetry, though.

Two black Morrises, my Cowley and this Minor.   Both supplied new from the same garage (Wadham's, Southampton) almost exactly two years apart.   Combined age of 122 years and grand total of four owners (two per car).    Just co-incidental parking, too.   When I talked to the Minor's owner we both produced the original Wadham's keyring fobs from our gloveboxes.

If cars could talk.....

So was Wadhams still in the same place I remember it being as a kid (it was Wadham Stringers by then though). Between Hulse Road and The Avenue where the Jag Land Rover place is now?

First thing I'd do with this is throw those VW badges away and give it it's dignity back.

These campers are fucking ace!

My understanding is that one or two members on here either own one or did own one.;-)

Loving the 5 Campus, must drag mine out of the garage. The pickup is a VW from the factory!

Ok, I know I'm being awkward but it annoys me when I see Felicias for sale and people say it's a VW underneath when it's not, it's pure Skoda. These Caddy's don't help.

Yes, it was - they handled all the Nuffield side of BMC like MG, Riley and Wolseley alongside Morris.  Also Rolls Royce for a time, I believe.   Carey & Lambert over the road (now the Vauxhall agents) did Austin.

I took the Cowley back there on the 60th anniversary of its original purchase from there (and re-traced its trip from there back to its first owner's address in Portswood - sad git!)

Unfortunately, they were not very interested apart from the lad who cleans the cars......

I remember the now Vauxhall dealer being a Talbot garage. This would be very early eighties. I started collecting car brochures at the age of about 11. Some dealers were more friendly than others when these spotty urchins came in asking for brochures. To be fair we were very polite, unthreatening urchins. Some would even let us sit in the cars. Sewards the Datsun place in Winchester Road, where The Range is now were always friendly. Then there was the small Skoda place in Anglesea Road, now flats and Renault at the very bottom of Winchester Road. But what I remember most was Bristol Street Motors in Shirley. Ford released a new brochure every month so I was quite a regular in there. Usually it was just a different cover but there was always a sense of anticipation to see if anything changed inside. I had about three years worth of those. I think they may have been the reason my mum threw all my brochures out one day when I was out as they were starting to take up a lot of room. Annoyed to say the least.

You've got me wondering about my Triumph now. I don't know where it was sold from but it has an OU reg which was Hampshire so it's fairly local. It was first registered on 21st April 1969 sof its 50th isn't too far away.

I ventured further afield than normal as I've exhausted my immediate locale.  Railway arches always yield something photogenic, shite or otherwise!

I could probably have a smaller house were it not for brochures!    Judging by my collecting memories your 1300 could well have come from Steel's down in Marsh Lane - I remember some ROU and POU G plate 2000s down there when my Grandad was having his P6 serviced....

Wow, now that's interesting. I've never even heard of that. You go back far further than me! I'm guessing it was somewhere where one of those office blocks are now, there's not much else down there.

At the side of the road yesterday. Jaguar really could style a car once upon a time.

Those steel-look aluminium wheels are lovely, a bit like those Alcoa wheels for weight conscious trucks.

I think the shed behind does bodywork and paint.

Almost Gaffer-spec P6.  A work mate took this pic for me in Streatham, and there's a Sunbeam Stiletto parked in the same road.  So I've instructed him to pap that too!

Went to a little show at Milton Keynes Museum this evening. About 30 cars there but not much shite and mostly local stuff I've seen before. This was the definite highlight - ex giffer owned with only about 12,000 miles.
