still got my spare one Billy..

Like, DURR! I forgot about that! Consider it sold, Si. Can you bring it with you please and later on today I'll arrange a time to collect it from you tomorrow? Cheers

Will do mate, should be there at 10ish I hope. On the road in there is a kids petting farm thing on the right just before you go left into the Arley estate so whoever needs it could wait there for me.

Does anyone who's coming live near Hirst (Wakefield area)? I have some things for him but he's not coming.

Posted

There's a few of us from West Yorks going, I dare say we can collectively work something out.

Ran out of gas. Still a lot to glue in. Means i'm not coming :(

If anyone wants a spare ticket, i have one in Coventry (M6 J2). Cavette has my number.

Will attempt to seek out some more gas, but i'm not hopeful :(

Shame Vanny. :(

2CV is loaded up with 1990s Classic & Sportscars, Classic Cars and a few others. I hope to not have to bring them home. It'll improve my cruising speed for a start. Oh, and Minimad5s flat cap is also on board.

I had to blend a bit earlier than I would have liked as missus on nights and shit loads of things to do before she arose and promptly lopped off one of my knackers, or something.

Anyhow shit weather but superb company. Met a few 'shiters I hadn't previously encountered and plenty that I had. Unfair to single people out, but a massive hats off to our Scottish contingent, plus Gary Cox and Bob 'old out yer 'and' Outlaw118118 for distances travelled.

Had a great laugh/fab time in some quality company and although the exhibits/sutojumble was down on the previous few years it didn't matter too much as I think we tend to spend more time chatting to each other anyhow. A real shame not everybody could come, hopefully those that couldn't will be there next year. I probably didn't talk to everyone for which I apologise, it was our best turn out and it wasn't easy to track everyone down so once again apologies.

Some photo's to follow but I'd just like to thank everyone who came along and made it a great day, hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did and we'll meet again soon.

*Edit: Captain Cock Chops (the announcer) excelled himself with another gem this year:

CC: 'Oh, how unusual to see a Chevrolet* with an engine in the back!'

Owner: 'That's because it's not a Chevrolet'

Everyone else: MASSIVE LOL

*It might not have been Chevrolet, but you get the point.

I've just got home, awesome day out chaps. Thx to Billy for organising it and great to meet old faces and new.

I'll leave the tales from the pub car park and fun with the council estate Volvo to someone else ... I think there's even a video

Thanks for a great day chaps

I'm back home now with my dinner and my laughter muscles still hurt :D

Can't wait till the next meet.

Aye, top day - next year I'll turn up at a reasonable time, too. Pub carpark shenannigans were good fun too!

Hey all,

I bunked off early as well as I had house-moving tasks piling up. Great to chat to everyone today, a real pleasure. Theres a real diverse bunch on here and it is a treat to meet up and have a chin wag once in a while. Just a shame I could not stay longer and sit chatting all flipping day. Great work gang!

Hey did anyone get any photos of that Invicta? What a spectacular motor.

Posted

It was a GR11 day out, which would've been even better if the weather had been a little more sympathetic. We were easily the most varied club in the entire show- I am pretty confident that AS had more French cars in attendance than the rest of the show combined! Thanks to Cav for organising the whole thing and everyone else for coming along (and barmatt for sending me his ticket at the last minute!). We need to get planning the Shitefest 13 ASAP!

Hairnet's pub suggestion was perfect by Autoshite standards, too. It had plenty of space for the cars and no other customers!

Posted

That bloody pub was spectacularly shite to the point that it was derelict!

+1 to wot evry1 else sed. Shame on those who missed it - it were proper bo, I tell thee.

Pics uploading now for t'other thread.
