skattrd Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 As I am somewhat disorganised I have done nothing about tickets, can I pay on the day?Yes, but I think that'll get you in to the general parking area, not the club area ... However if you look about 3 posts above your last one .... Shit and tits. I'm going to have to drop out of this, sadly - I've just been informed that I have to be in Brussels for work. Very irritated about this. It doesn't help that the Jag also won't be MOTd in time, although I could probably park the modern outside and bum a lift in. If anyone wants my ticket, just drop me a PM. Have you pm'd Skizzer? There may be other people dropping out as well, so I'd keep an eye on this thread for others willing to give up their tickets.

Cavcraft Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Gary Cox, did you get my pm about getting hold of Phil if your ticket hasn't arrived yet? Cheers.

retrogeezer Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Still have my spare ticket (which was offered on page 16) if anyone else wants one.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Would anyone attending be interested in these? It's almost every issue of Car from 1981-1989 (march and nov 1989 missing). I'd like £20 for them, because that's what I paid (that's less than 19p per issue!). They are in variable condition but generally good.
garycox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 YES! I'll have those if they've not been claimed yet please

I'm worried your ticket isn't going to get to you as it was posted ages ago and should be with you by now. I'll get another one and send it out to you asap.Cheers.

Vanny Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Hmmm, question is, will i make it? Moral of the story, plan bank holiday weekends better so i don't get bored on a Sunday afternoon and start chop chop chopping! Cavcraft 1
dollywobbler Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Just take it as is. It'll fit right in. I've decided that the 2CV is too noisy for there and back in a day (220 mile round trip) and the Merc too thirsty. So I'll be in the 2CV but stopping in a hotel somewhere relatively close on the Saturday night. Probably Wrexham. Any plans for meeting up before entering the site?

Whimp my Visa will have a 278 mile round trip! I have now got my ticket in my sticky little hands thanks to "Skizzer"
dollywobbler Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Your Visa has many more powers! Also you will be assisted by motorways. I have none.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 You think that's bad, I have to drive almost sixteen miles and I don't even have a radio.
skattrd Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 We've gotta drive 5,798 miles each way.May I enquire as to what vehicle you're bringing? Little Fiat per chance?
retrogeezer Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 still got a spare ticket here if anyone else is looking for one.
barrett Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 We've gotta drive 5,798 miles each way.May I enquire as to what vehicle you're bringing? Little Fiat per chance? It's gonna be the Maestro I think, or a modern Polo if we're feeling really lazy. I would love to drive the Standard up but I don't want to put it through that ordeal 2 days after buying it and then expecting it to get me to work on Monday, as it's hardly been used at all in the last year. The Fiat will be just as slow, far less comfortable and almost certainly won't make it without breaking down. BORING sorry.
skattrd Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Thats no fun Barrett/Garycox. I was hoping for epic tales of the journey in slightly inappropriate vehicles.
hairnet Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 after thinking about doing wheels day in something small and 25+ years old and modern i picked modern (for same kinda miles as barrett) fail but worth it
garycox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I don't mind what we bring, Barrett demands only the highest amounts of luxury though. I'd just bring whatever is least appropriate. Looks like it'll be the beige Maestro though unless we can get 100,000 signatures on a 'bring the Standard' petition
cms206 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 456 mile round trip for me in the Council Estate at 26ish mpg. I may use the other two 740s for slipstreaming tactics as we perform our Shite Gear Volvo Fuel Economy challenge. Unless my 740 shits itself then the back up car is a 1.6 Maestro with a shagged clutch and an oil leak.
skattrd Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 cms - whats the plan for the Scottish contingent? You guys aren't setting off in the middle of the night are you?
KruJoe Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 My sitting room floor is available, and half way down for them if they want it. (Approximate location: BD23 4DA.) How many are there? Andy, you have my email address...
