bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Hi guys an gals great forum board you have. Love the banter and all the cars. Just been reading the whole thread on the sierra van. Good job that man. I have a reliant robin as a daily driver so I should fit in just fine here!
dollywobbler Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Welcome. And may I be the first to say WE NEED PICS. Ta.
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I'm on my phone so can't upload but more than happy to email a couple from my phone to someone here to post?
meggersdog Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 welcome. As long as your Reliant hasn't been painted yellow with Trotters insipid twattery written down the side with a marker pen then, yeah, pics please.
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I can't stand people who paint any reliant yellow and write it up as trotters. They had a regal supervan 3 and is so annoying when u see a robin or rialto. Mine is blue with alloys on. Only slightly nodded up under bonnet.
Chip Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The thing I don't get is that they finish painting it up, and no-one ever has the courage to say "but that looks nothing sodding like the Trotters' van!"
Cavcraft Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Welcome along. Chip, you have a point: maybe it's time to start 'asq-ing' all those cockflips on eBay about their bullshit.
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Looks like I've started a vigilante group against anything non regal trottered up! Not bad for my first night!
dollywobbler Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I think those sentiments existed here already! As a trawl through the Ebay thread will attest... Does annoy me that they're seen as joke cars though. Finally got to drive a Robin myself last year and it was an absolute hoot. Wouldn't fancy working on the engine (Kitten has much easier access!), but great fun to drive.
vulgalour Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 There's two blue Rialtos in my village, one with Minilites and another with wheel trims that look like Dunlop alloys but aren't. At first, I wondered if one was yours, but you said you have a Robin not a Rialto. Welcome along anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing some snaps of your three pin plug
Cheggers Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Welcome along...has anyone mentioned pics of your Rialto?
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I bought mine from egmanton but before that it belonged to a chap in edwinstowe and think originally come from stockport. It's got electronic ignition and fuel pump, rev counter, uprated carb, inlet manifold, air intake and cylinder head and revolution 4 spoke alloy wheels and chrome an leather steering wheel. Have to be careful on left hand bends but right hookers are a giggle especially rear wheel drive and wet roads
RichL Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Hello and welcome. Can't remember the last time I saw a Robin, or a Rialto... Spotted an immaculate Regal Supervan at a local summer carnival this year though, with haulage company style paintwork and livery. No yellow paint or black writing to be seen
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 The first pic I could tolerate but the other two are just sacrilege!! Reliants are starting to fetch stupid money nowadays.
Split_Pin Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome along My Uncle Dan had a Robin and he loved it. Frame around the front wheel collapsed eventually!
Guest Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome, bloke. There are two spiffy Reliants that live together on Brooksby Street, Islington, near my house. I will take some picz.
DSdriver Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Welcome to the forum, I am enjoying your first thread.A quick question: did you have to buy a set of four alloys?
bub2006 Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Already had alloys when I bought it. Only on back though. Alloys don't fit front cos of space needed round the wheel. Revolution classic 4 spokes if anyone interested?!
Angrydicky Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Welcome, bloke. There are two spiffy Reliants that live together on Brooksby Street, Islington, near my house. I will take some picz. There's a MK1 Cavalier on the same street on Streetview!
fordperv Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Hello and welcome its nice to see someone rocking a robin, I would love one but unfortunately Mrs fordperv doesnt feel the love for them she says It would be on its roof within the 1st week of ownership I used to see one round my way with nice wide minilights on the back, more pics please
bub2006 Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 My Mrs thought the same but she likes it now. If you drive it alone then have to be careful on left handers but right handers are ok. Scared Mrs other day when it rained and was sideways round Asda island
bub2006 Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 My uncle owns an undertakers in nottingham. He has a few yank tanks and also he had a bike and hearse sidecar. His birth name was actually lucifer
