dollywobbler Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 I started this thread eight years ago when I had a Rover 75. Sadly the pic links seem all broken... But I have another 75 so let's go again. Craig the Princess, Zelandeth, chodweaver and 12 others 15
captain_70s Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 The Acclaim - Adequate but uninspiring. The Volvo - Subpar, not aided by mine having blown bulbs (Ironically the non-functional fuel gauge is lit up but the working temp gauge isn't)... Finally, @davidfowler2000's Pug 205. Fucking amazing. The one I nearly bought back in 2003 had gone like that on the speedometer, and a couple I've seen on eBay over the years have done it.

wuvvum Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Went out in the Felicia last night and on the way home the rest of the dashboard lights randomly decided to start working. I love self-fixing cars. LightBulbFun, Lacquer Peel, Yoss and 5 others 7 1

HMC Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Another 206 I’m afraid. But I like the instrumentation- in an age where warning lights replace gauges I like the pugs oil temperature as well as coolant temperature gauge. Sad but true. Wilko220 1
nacho man Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Here is a 07 GL Merc that I have been using lately. Has quite an array of buttons. And here is a close up of the dials on my 996. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk MJK 24 1
wuvvum Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I took a few more dash at night photos a week or two ago to celebrate getting the heater panel illumination working on the Punto (since sold to BeEP) and the C2. They've been replaced by (presumably) halogen versions, and a new alternator too - I was pleasantly surprised seeing as I wasn't expecting much! wuvvum 1
tooSavvy Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 After buying + collecting Mizzie alloys (see trip!) Quite a test drive....... 😕

The Old Bloke Next Door Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Possibly because its a Scania? I usually drive a Volvo or a Dennis, I'll take a picture next time I'm at work for a comparison.
wuvvum Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Analogue tachos always had the KM round the outside and miles inside - presumably manufacturers have just kept up the tradition now everything's digital.

wuvvum Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Same as my dad's. Not a bad steer for a modern.
willswitchengage Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 First modern I've seen that doesn't have a rev-meter
Zelandeth Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Seems very cold to me...just makes it seem somehow unwelcoming in the dark. Just my point of view though.

The normal pez and derv ones have one. As wuvvum says - it's of limited use with the CVT-alike transmission. 5 hours ago, Zelandeth said: Seems very cold to me...just makes it seem somehow unwelcoming in the dark. Just my point of view though. I wouldn't disagree with that. It's a "starker" blue than say a 00's VW. I really rather liked my Bora - blue gauges, red everything else.

It had a slightly violet tint to it as well as I recall so even the blue looked "warmer" somehow. Magic 1
