Hello. Apologies for what appears to be top lurking, But after meeting Mr Dollywobbler & some encouragement to post here I am!

 

Firstly, My shite is a 1987 Citroen BX 16RE, possibly the most unloved of the 16's. It is finished in the most delectable French Racing Beige and has a brown interior, well sort of as I changed the seats a few years back for black leather. It has covered around 137K and is 100% original. It's what I call a 10 foot car, as that's where it's best viewed from!

 

My daily is a modern (sorry) but it's 100% future 1000000000 carrat shite. A 5 Cylinder diesel Alfa.

 

I would love more shire, but need more space.

 

So, there it is. My first post after many years lurking & enjoying the banter.

Very handsome car indeed. I think we might have followed you north up the A1 for a little while yesterday - SWMBO was keeping close track of a very similar looking car when we left ICCCM around 5 in the unhappy looking 323F. (Alright, so there were probably a few driving north around that time too..)

 

I also noticed her searching through C&C for 'Citroen BX' on the laptop over breakfast this morning, so it must have had an effect!

I have had this car since 1995. I try to use it at least 2 times per week for work or whatever. I have owned various BX's & a few Xantias over the years. A nice GS in orange with matching orange interior would be ace! At one time I did own a very nice Lada Riva with more holes than swiss cheese. The worst car I owned was a MOT failed BX for £75. Ended up breaking that for bits

 

Loserone, that would have indeed been my goodself on the A1 As far as I could tell (3days at ICCCR) I was the only beige boy there.

Possibly. It's taxed, MOT'd and insured but not finished because the painter's had a fleet of boats to spray.

 

If not I'll be through in the car I suspect, but at the moment the plan is still to take the bus.

Might toddle up to Lathalmond myself. Not been so far this year, and it's only 10 minutes away.
