Met MrScruff of this parish and purchased his van from him today.

On the way home (whilst on my private driveway  ) it did this:

I think the vacuum pump has packed up, so I'll look into that tomorrow, the brakes are err.. rather wooden shall we say?

I might be getting one of these soon so please keep us updated on what it's like to live with, cheers.

They're really quite appealing, I broke one at the weekend and really had to fight the temptation to buy it off him and try and fix it.

C15's rule.

I remember moving lots of stuff in one, years ago, and my mate in his 325 BeeEm had trouble keeping up round The Peak District, He did note it spent a fair amount of time of three wheels.

Hope Trev does you proud, good to meet you and thanks for the bonus sticker, made my week!

In many ways it is the best vehicle I've ever owned as it never went wrong and I have literally spent nothing on it!! As you can probably tell...

Well Trev is going to have to pay his way, and with a little movement in the garage department, he was promptly loaded with a load of old shit for skip or bonfire yesterday, hopefully this weekend, the scruffy sectional garages should be removed, which is a bonus.

Mean time, a bit of prodling around under the bonnet turned up this, which is probably where all the brake vacuum had been escaping (it works the EGR if memory serves)

Oh and here is the result of the pre mot, pretty chuffed with it to be honest!

Designed an adornment for the back door, what colour to make it though?

Is the tester also your local GP, I've seen clearer prescriptions? Looks like a good result though, nice one!

My French is a bit rusty... does that mean "the tin shit-heap"?

You wooden want them any other way! :D

My French is a bit rusty... does that mean "the tin shit-heap"?

Very close, I wanted it to say "the tin turd", that is what it translated to, but when translated back it means "the turn tin".

Either way it is fairly accurate.

I just need to hunt down some cheap front arms...

Mrs Ruff and myself stayed in a nice hotel on the waterside in Lincoln yesterday, unfortunately me being a prize twat, managed to leave Trev's lights on all night...

We tried getting a jump off of the Hertz ladies' Ka, and then a hire van, but all it achieved was some VERY hot jump leads.

So a 3 mile walk around lincoln eventually produced a new battery, the casualty being my wallet this time.

All that you need for a good anniversary:

I grew up with these things, one even exploded on my parents driveway (well, the airfilter did after a tin of EeasyStart was emptied into it). Lovely in an ironic way,- great motors! :)

I felt guilty last year weighing in a tidy late spec one of these. Twas a diesel that the engine and box had simultaneously expired on.

Until it died, it was ace. I like 'em.

New sticker, I chose as near to Citroen of old's colour scheme as my selection of vinyl offcuts allowed:

So knowing that Trev only has a little while of legality left, today at lunch I set about replacing the soggy front suspension, the bushes are about £7 each, and you need 4, the arms were £22 complete, no contest, here is the right hand one in progress:

IMAG0337.jpg

After a bit of graft and some industrial grade swearing, the arms are fitted, along with a pair of "new" wheels and tyres, total cost £74:

We will get one of those shitty new mots yet!

You've undoubtedly been influenced by the magical powers of the tv ad:

Well after nearly 3000 miles and a lot of being worked, I sold Trev this morning.

Knowing that I had a viewing this morning meant that I gave him a quick clean yesterday, as well as taking a few parting shots of him on my way home.

My wallet is now fatter, but my life is now more dull and colourless now that he has gone.
