M'coli Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Update of spots, some are more recent than others. This Astra estate has been used by one of the techs at the local Vauxhall garage for at least the past 4 years or so, wearing anything from standard 13" steels, through the Cav alloys on the front and mk2 GTE 14" alloys to 15" Corsa C fanblades. I don't know what this was doing parked on a Leeds housing estate: A winter wonder spot, a Toyota Cressida in Harrogate last December: Spotted on a van in Harrogate: Nice 800 in Harrogate in January:Wahey, missmatched wings! A Carina drove past as I had my camera in hand. Horizon lushness. I see this on a regular cycle route, it's the first time I've been bold enough to stop and take a photo: I cycled around some of Harrogate while my wife's puglet 106 was in getting MOT'd. This Subaru estate was my first spot. MX-3 on someone's drive I decided that a fat bloke riding around a nice housing development looking in driveways for interesting old chod would be a little suspicious, so I headed for the terraced houses, first spot here was this Series 1. Plastic trying to rust gently into the driveway. 3-series tourer Lovely! Not shite, especially at that price! Continuing the German theme. This is the best I could get without trespass of this 505 estate: Back in Wetherby, this was a pleasant surprise in Morrison's car park. Back in Harrogate for the re-test! Honda Accord coupé. I wonder where this was parked? Not Shite bus spotted on the morning dog walk. Last weekend in Clitheroe, a boat-topped petrol Tranny camper The Hopper Lane Jaguar garage on the A59, I really should stop here one day and have a proper look! I was trying to take a picture of the non-existant arch on this Metro but missed... Sunbeam Alpine? The nicest Sherpa I've seen in many a year: Then there's the guy with the Victor FBs that I saw on Thursday, he was stripping one of them becaue it was well rotten, having sat in a front garden for 29 years. The white estate: The roadworthy saloon, soon to be spoilt* by having a paintjob Finally, a nice 3-door Metro/100. Uncle Jimmy and Skizzer 2
M'coli Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Lucky too - if I'd have driven into Harrogate then I'd not have seen them, but the cyclepath pops you out where this guy's lock-ups are.
CreepingJesus Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Good work, sir. I would be slack jawed and pointing, if faced with that Astra estate. Last time I was in Harrogate, my shitey senses weren't just tingling, they were going off like an air raid siren. Now I know why! Kinda wish I had parked up for the night there, and gone for an early morning stroll
Gompo Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Update of spots, some are more recent than others. This Astra estate has been used by one of the techs at the local Vauxhall garage for at least the past 4 years or so, wearing anything from standard 13" steels, through the Cav alloys on the front and mk2 GTE 14" alloys to 15" Corsa C fanblades.] Hey, good effort here - I spotted this going down the A1 about a month ago. Really wanted to get a moving shot but for once failed. I hadn't seen on in an age.
Split_Pin Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 An identical Asrat passed me in Bonnybridge not 1 hour ago, but on a w plate. That's probs the only 2 in the uk!
Lord Sterling Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Great to see its been repaired, most people wouldnt bother. Never driven or probably even been near a Rover 825 Diesel, though I am warming to them having seen that vid.
Split_Pin Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 My mate and I were discussing Rover 800s last week as he has a soft spot for them as do I. I went digging for reviews and vids of the cars on you tube. The ressurection of a crashed one seemed am appealing vid amd I thought hey I recognise that car from your spots! Doesn't this particular one sound like a Discovery with the exhaust blowing! BTW Lord Sterling I enjoyed your 800 spotted thread on the Forum for the car. M'coli 1
M'coli Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 How odd! Well travelled Rover, though - Weegie VRM.
M'coli Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Macarrghs is still going, although that number could have been allocated to Methven's in Alexandria.
M'coli Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Righto, another wee update of sorts! Let's start with a Swiss Volvo 240 taken in Harrogate probably back in February.[/url] This shonky as.. Trafic camper in Knaresborough about a month ago, I seem to recall an '07 tax disc in the window!I've just returned from seeing Shooglenifty play at the Otley Playhouse, on my way there I saw the PB Victor saloon in spofforth again. On the way back I did a double take at this, and a u-turn just to make sure I got some photos: pity the camera's batteries decided not to after 2 shots! I can't remember the last time I saw a Tipo in the flesh - this one's a 1.4ie with last year's tax disc. Uncle Jimmy 1
M'coli Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Tonight's dog walk turned up some cracking stuff at the racecourse - it's Citroen Car club time again! M'coli Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 A couple of weekends ago in Harrogate, saw this nice combintation: P1040009 by dtvacuums, on Flickr Then, on turning right, saw this in the rear view mirror and had enough time to ask the missus to take a snap - this is actually the second photo of it,:P1040011 by dtvacuums, on Flickr This is the first, what I hadn't seen coming towards us was the TR4/5, so this was a bonus!P1040010 by dtvacuums, on Flickr Uncle Jimmy 1
vulgalour Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Massive fins and the three wheeled combo are my favourites. It's a shame that deathtraps bike and sidecars aren't so commonplace anymore, I spent my formative years travelling in my Dad's until he caved and bought one of those new fangled Japanese four wheeled horseless carriages.
M'coli Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Took the 205 out today (no. I haven't fixed the HGF on it yet, it's still fizzing nicely) and spied this in the car park at Argos - a glassfibre Mini. The tax disc still said "Austin", so does anyone know the manufacturer of the kit? Lacquer Peel and Skizzer 2
Skizzer Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Nope. Qualitee shite though, complete with original Clubman trimz. Top thread.
skattrd Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I've no idea what that is, looks like a mini Rancho to me.I'd have no problems chopping up a mini to make one of those.
maxpower Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Wow! i haven't seen one of those victors since i was about 5yrs old
garycox Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Mini thing is a Minus Maxi http://maximummini.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/minus-maxi-who-knows-one.html M'coli 1
M'coli Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 A disappointing haul from a trip to the highlands this year, the only decent chod was this refridgerated lorry outside Lochinver. However, I debated taking the camera this morning when I went shopping...glad I did:It's a two-stroke, just imported from Poland, and judging by the number plate and the quick conversation with the driver of the X5, heading for Norn Irn! fordperv 1
M'coli Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 A wee update with a fit Swede spotted on the way home from nightshift back in August. And one of a poorly Sunbeam Alpine. Cavcraft and fordperv 2

M'coli Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 A bit of an update, from various places around and about. First up, some York spottings. A Volvosaurus not owned by the Scottish Volvoshite fetishists group... This was at the NEC in November, it's a Bedford Rascal. Yes, really. Tidy Corrado near Wetherby. I'd thought I'd seen this tidy wee thing around the area, although today I found out it may not have been it - Wetherby has two Pandas! Then, as we left the carpark, this cruised past in a haze of part-combusted hydrocarbons... Cavcraft 1
M'coli Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 How could I forget about this? An Uno van outside the Affric Hotel in Cannich - the hotel looks derelict and has broken windows, but there are cats inside it and lights on and that?
