Lord Sterling Posted December 16, 2018 Author Posted December 16, 2018 Lol. May as well admit it. It was the Red5 MG ZS I was setting my sights on. It's local (meaning I can use my legs to go and fetch it) and it's cheap enough for me to afford plus changing the insurance policy shouldn't be difficult or more expensive. Also it's a known car and an MG/Rover product. Fronteras are great. I love them and the fact that they are wallowy and you need to 'guide' them rather than steer them. Oddly enough I get a lot of kudos from other 4x4 drivers, even if they are much newer. It sounds like an old London taxi (diesel kids, diesel...) and kind of goes like one AS well but it's great and definitely puts a wry smile on my boatrace when I drive it. I can see why Red5 is a fan, I really can... Burnside, Coprolalia, red5 and 1 other 4
red5 Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 That is a two-eight. Literally the best diesel engine ever. twosmoke300 1

Lord Sterling Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Cheers man. Hopefully it'll help me save a bit on fuel (£50 a week to go to work) plus it soothes my wantage for an early Zafira. Yes, you read right, a shiter wanted an early Zafira. But got something a bit better. The Vectra is a 2.2 DTi, fast and an estate plus a great looker too so yeah, I'm well chuffed, I almost own a Vauxhall. jumpingjehovahs, Exiled_Tat_Gatherer, Lacquer Peel and 3 others 6

Saw a T-plate in that icy silver-blue colour with an Irmscher body kit and it looked great. Can’t remember I saw one of these, even less so an estate. Hope it does you a great turn, a 2.2 should shift! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Lord Sterling 1

Lord Sterling Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Cheers lads. Yep, first thing is a valet, it badly needs it. So much so I hesitated taking Ma and Sis out today. Still loads of dog hair on the seats, floor and boot floor. Probably some better tyres all round, the ones on aren't bad bit they don't inspire cornering confidence very much. When I come back from Turkey I'll need to sort out a spare key as it only came with one. Also, I'll try and sort some mats. It already has tailored mats but they are a bit thin and tired looking. I might have a set of proper Vectra B ones somewhere. Also, book pack and wallet will be added to at some point. Burnside, oldcars and red5 3
fatharris Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Is this the one AS collectively lost their shit over, trying to buy?

Lord Sterling Posted January 27, 2019 Author Posted January 27, 2019 Thanks again chaps. Today I decided to give the Vectra clean The before pics can be seen above. After wash; The interior badly needed a hoover. However, getting somewhere where I can hoover a car in peace without worrying about feeding the machine yet more pound coins has always been a problem. Cheekily, I asked the charity shoppe where sometimes help out offered me to use their hoover as I was working out in the back where I parked anyway. The interior was full of dog hair, seats, carpets, door cards etc... Before; After; 90% of the hair has finally been lifted. There is still bits and bobs but they can wait for another day, I'll use sticky tape to get the rest off the door cards and especially the boot floor where it seems to be trapped. Topped up the washer fluid. Next on the list is tyres. With regards to the BMW, it is being prepared to be repaired and will be used as a back up/family car for Ma if she ever needs to use it. jumpingjehovahs, RayMK, oldcars and 12 others 15

D Spares & Tyres Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Best thing for removing dog hair? Vectra cubby hole rubber mats. Scrape them upside down across the hairy fabric and the hair will gather in clumps, making it really easy to Hoover up Lacquer Peel, Lord Sterling and red5 3
