I'm going to foray into the 1/18 resin market next month after payday. I have a feeling I will never look back. Can't wait.

I've got that Bburago Testarossa and its cracking. It was Bburago's first 'modern' car in 1/18 (earlier Camargue was 1/22) scale. They are dirt cheap nowadays too.

Do you ever want to build a few of the less valuable ones and keep the box? I have kept the boxes for most of my built models and I like to look at the artwork and the completed model in the pictures and compare it my efforts.

I used to build a lot and yes, I do want to get into it again.

The value of a kit is of no importance to me, if I want to build the subject, I build it. I consider this a form of miniature banger racing.

For the really rare and obscure stuff, if you want to build one, there is usually a slightly started one out there, which often can be had for surprisingly little money.

Also, I love to restore kits, that were ruined decades ago by kids.

I never keep the entire box of a built kit. I carefully fold the lid flat and keep it like this, along with the instructions, which I collect in a folder.

As for the level of modeller I am, this is my Aoshima OMGMGBBYMG:

Hugely impressive build, that MGB......However it makes me wonder why they didn't mould a new interior?   Seems a shame when the car looks so good with even the correct ride height and that superb paint job.

I could have used the chrome bumpers/grille and lowered the ride height to match the interior.

But yes, why didn't Aoshima include an updated dashboard, steering wheel and seats?

Those would have been the only parts they'd have had to tool. Oh, and Rostyles.

I built the MGB as well, as a gift for stepdad to replicate the 1:1 example he had at the time:

Mine was a Revell issue, but still the Aoshima kit I think. I ought to have lowered the ride height really.

That's very nice. You even opened the bonnet!

Thanks! I even got a tin of Mineral Blue paint mixed-up to match the real thing. Don’t know why I opened the bonnet though, given that there’s no engine….

I bet that MG1300 has a dog looking out the window in the back.... :-D

One of my cars has a pair of wellies plus other stuff moulded into the boot floor but I can't remember what one it is, might be a majorette Sierra.
