I wondered how they got hold of this MB stock

I went in one in Torquay and they had loads on 2016-17 stuff. Not sure where they’d get this from. Where’s the eBay sellers getting them from?

Yes could be old stock after all.  I've checked the Matchbox Cadillac One limo and it's a 2015 release

As an aside: check out the 2016 US election ones in the link above!   The 'Hillary for prison' one with roof showing her behind bars is quite telling....!  I assume this would be a code-2?

I've never seen MB in a TK Maxx.  Toy section at TK Maxx here is almost desolate anyhow.  The rest of the shop is like a Next sale cast-off / jumble sale clothes shop

Morrisons here don't even have HW.   Lots of greetings cards though..

I was referring to Majorette - talking of which this just arrived

My dilemmas are similar.  I dwell on the possibilities too much and nothing gets finished. As has happened here!

IMG_0018.thumb.JPG.28ec6b97204981ae3b2d5b2318497dc1.JPG

My suggestion to resolve your dilemma is keep the *authentic yellow glazing, swap the broken engine stack row, swap the seat section that holds the front and third row of pipes.

The stack rows are separate; the pipes are on two separate pieces

Then paint the donor in an upscale similar homage

Then realise the house can't fix itself, bag them up and forget about them

Reminded me of this which I found today while I was looking for something else. There's a couple of other cars in the series too.

Old Mrs Copeland's son Alec has been really busy of late with his business 'Nae bother Windae Cleaners' and he's recently upgraded to a Peugeot Bipper. His old Passat B5 TDi wasn't tall enough to accommodate his new Reach and Wash equipment so it's been retired at 335,080 miles. He's parked it up in front of her garage as the Volvo is out of use as well.

As council lockups go, that yard looks remarkably clean and litter-free!

When I mentioned swops earlier, I alluded to these two...

1671352098_DC058.thumb.jpg.90698db7e06d6650df93d8186babbb24.jpg

...so I thought a pic was due.

Here are some of the latest entries in the Personal collection...

371072389_DC057.thumb.jpg.a0faae44b310f5bb2b497ad9098f415d.jpg

L-R: my MG Maestro (which is a bugger to get back together); my Chrysler leBaron, shaped from a Mercedes SL; and the 1966 Mini van we had back in 77, that never saw the road.

982840235_DC059.thumb.jpg.41c5ff58c15e676ac3c7dcecc12eb9c2.jpg

Work in progress!  Corgi Junior Volvo saloon being converted into an estate; Matchbox Mercury Sable wagon being converted into a sedan.  Both of these will join the Personal display when they're done.

96539860_DC060.thumb.jpg.704202c9f72f7cedb73fbcf89050f93d.jpg

And finally today: my Rover 2600 VdP, almost ready for the Personal display; and a Budgie Wolseley that had lost all its police kit, so I made it a civilian car, then realised it had lost its grille too, so I've had to buy one.  This won't be joining the Personal fleet, neither I nor my family have ever owned any Wolseley, AFAIK.

Box art.

Has there been much discussion?

I remember how wild and fast the Matchbox box art was in the seventies, distinct examples being Cambuster and Bazooka

But who let Mod Tractor out at that speed, without a driver ?!    Health & safety in the seventies, eh.

Not really but I was just looking through my catalogues for something else when this caught my eye - what's that #45 buggy?

What I was looking for was combinations using the yellow trailer, having found one now. So:

20200924_145125.thumb.jpg.768bbe00deeaa46b4a1137fe34da0fc6.jpg1155106470_Javelin_Drag_Race_Pack_28K-57_in_Box29.jpg.355e62732aef477b15b148ae638e3be4.jpg

However I have found a picture on wiki that doesn't tie in with my catalogues;

Javelin_Drag_Race_Pack_(1978-81).thumb.jpg.c4fe66249828ff71c56d0014d5a37a1c.jpg

closest I can manage is

20200924_145545.thumb.jpg.6f96855ef2141101a120e92785b6c0c9.jpg

but I'm looking for the correct AMX - a variant I hadn't noticed before.

Also need to dig out a Lamborghini Miura to go with the boat trailer

I'm more worried about what the 'GO-GO' range is....!

Charger and Europa were in those colours for that year, but without any stickers.

It wasn't until 1971 that we got to see Baja Buggy and Beach Buggy.  The catalogue drawing looks a pastiche of the two

As you may have gathered, I was out Hot Wheels hunting today. Didn't find much other than the Kustom Mercury

My first Goldvarg.

This brings my Buick Electra collection to three. Four more to go I think.

It's a bloody impressive model, despite being composit it feels as heavy as a diecast.

Another daft purchase is incoming from Germany. Hopefully get better pics of both at the weekend.

So today I almost finished my camping lap of the Cornish coastline  (tip take a scratched 3 foot wide car 😉 ) and ended up in Tintagel to see a) the castle b) how wet I could get!

However this delightful albeit dusty museum (it was a shop really) of toys appeared. Full of paper tags and mid 90’s prices it seemed too - it did have a fantastic selection of tractors if that’s your thing though.

There was a cracking display of large scale Viceroys - sadly about 10 foot away. A few for sale too:

No photos but strawberry boxed Yesteryears for £4.99 if your tempted too 😉

The museum was the kind of place you’d have visited as kid - and it was probably the same then 😁 no triangle pennant stickers - though I asked!

Its took me a week for the lap and I’m only in a pop top so I will be glad for the BB tomorrow  😂 however it can go anywhere as the paintwork now proves 🤐

That's a very similar trip!  Except came down through Tavistock to stay at Looe, then drove west and down, clockwise up.  Almost two weeks of it
