Lord Sterling Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Sweet! Sorted. I'd been looking for these Volvos for ages, since they came out in fact and never found them, then 2 come along! Burnside and flat4alfa 2

I had a similar despondent episode today too - I used same paint, same models, same setting.... Left to sit for a few days and came back to them both today. Yet the top coat from the SAME CAN crazed all over the place!!! Why?? It's clear I don't understand paint and patience doesn't always pay-off. Grrr.. I'm glad the Dodge Mirada went to you. Great effort, oh what a resurrection :-) Where are the wheels from? bunglebus 1

I wanted to win a Pilen R16 yesterday and it sold for £91. It nearly doubled in price in the final minute! After little interest a month ago, over just the past two weeks I've sold a good few rolling-listed Scalextric cars for pretty much twice what I paid for them six months ago.... I will all come to an abrupt end, I'm sure. It will have to, as we will be yearning for Belfast Market Blokey's prompt return, to keep our sanity
Lord Sterling Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 As much as I hated (and still would hate to) living in Birmingham, I do have a strange tad of enthusiasm about it. One of those things that reminded me of the place was this 1.76 scale of the Number 14 Metrobus to Tile Cross via Alum Rock. I found it in an antiques shop in Leominster whilst coming back from a car pick up job in Wales a few years ago and I just had to have it. Its a nice model with plastic slidey doors on the side. Made by Corgi. Another reminder of Birmingham is this Plaxton National Express bus number 440 on its way to Heanor via Leicester, probably from the old Digbeth station in Digbeth, Birmingham. I may have bought this either in Stourport or in Bridgnorth, though Stourport is more likely as the bus below the National Express bus was bought fron the same place. Made for the Corgi Omnibus collection. The bus below is an (Atlas?) "BET single decker" from Lancashire, the X70 to Blackpool. Bought *I think* along with the above National Express Plaxton from a Charity shoppe in Stouport. As above, for the Corgi Omnibus collection. I must admit, I have travelled (quite extensively) on National Express busses from Digbeth years ago and travelled on the Metrobus busses in Birmingham (though not the 14 route via Alum Rock) though I don't think I've done the X70 route to Blackpool. Austat Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Does this thread include Lego creations? If so, a few people here might like my poor attempt at building an Invacar Model 70 from a few years back: Yes I know it's supposed to be light blue but I've mainly got white bricks at home. Too short to be one of mine. Living in a house with two long haired girls and two cats, hairs are everywhere. Just wish I'd noticed when I took the picture flat4alfa 1
Split_Pin Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 Those Corgi Metrobuses were great, I have a Code 3 Midland Bluebird one. Corgi certainly got their mileage out of it, often depicting a correct Roe or ECW bodied Olympian on the box but inside you get a Metrobus! Lord Sterling 1
eddyramrod Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Among my current restoration projects I have two Dinky caravans, the Sprite Musketeer type although it was never named as such. Each one is missing its door. Can anyone help? Steve Flowers lists them but he isn't open at the moment. I could possibly make them but I don't think I want to, it looks a bit of a challenge. DoctorRetro Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Found some Hot Wheels in a drawer this morning, that I'd meant for littlun, but never gave them to him. Decided to try some 'arty' shots and include characters as has been done on these pages previously. However, I had to do my own twist... 2016 Camaro 1969 Charger Porsche Panamera Charger stock car 1967 Jeepster Commando Jon, 108, Datsuncog and 6 others 7 2

Lord Sterling Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 49 minutes ago, flat4alfa said: Also where did you get these from? Thanks My local Tesco express outlet. They usually don't have model cars at all. But I went into there yesterday for some food shopping and saw them on a shelf. They weren't in the usual Hotwheels store box just upright on a shelf. There weren't many about 10 or 15 mixed models. flat4alfa 1
eddyramrod Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Some more "finished" restos... Ah Trans-o-Lite! I rather like the Buick Riviera in red... P4, that was unaccountably missed out of the last shoot, and Consul Capri. And finally today, elderly Dinky Cadillac. junkyarddog, Burnside, DoctorRetro and 8 others 11
bramz7 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Two more arrivals. NZG W126. I probably won this due to being the only bidder. They don't seem to be worth much, which is probably due to the odd scale, 1/35. It's quite heavy and everything opens And this, which I didn't really set out to win but ended up with anyway. The paint is alarmingly defect free for something from the USSR. There's another for sale on eBay absolutely wrecked with metal fatigue. bunglebus, AndyW201, Skizzer and 2 others 5
