Shite in Miniature II

Speaking of stock, I spent time last night fussing through all the still-carded HW MB etc purchases and have plenty of doubles and others to sell on / swap

Also have plenty of Airfix etc 1/32 car bodyshells in duplicate, all stripped clean and ready for rebuilds. Amongst this is a MK2 Escort in Mexico guise

Will fire up the camera

Thinking of making an ‘authentic’ Matchbox display cabinet. Something really 70’s looking. That’s how bored I’m getting. Maybe out of MDF.

Looks like the Milner one has the wrong body in the box? That's a five-window kit, decals are correct though. Will check IMCDB

looks like I am late to the party as I would grab those with both hands for the tenner?

The McCullough one is right up my street!

As I thought, Milner's dragster was only the open body

What it looks like MPC did was share sprues with their 'Jawbreaker' dragster; hence the spares for the five-window altered body

Three-way swap?

(ooo-err...)

I meant, is there anything you are after instead? Do you have a wants list?

Spent half the afternoon going through my unboxed cars in the loft, which gave me an opportunity to put together some Who Did It Betters, starting with Porsche

Left to right; Summer(?), Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Hot Wheels and Majorette

New Hot Wheels looks the most accurate but the Matchbox's opening doors edge it for me.

911 Turbos, left to right; Hot Wheels, Bang(?), Matchbox, MC Toys, Siku, Majorette

Lol that's the lounge. Loft is boarded but is lit with a single bulb on an extension lead, so not great for photos!

I like the Majorette 924, just a shame it sits so high.

Their version of the Majorette looks similar to the TR7, with the ludicously wide wheels.

The Majorette 911 & TR7 did both come with normal wheels, they seem less common though.

I have just found my Joker Buick. It was painted green with question marks. It had no roof at all so I grafted one from a Hot Wheels 57 Chevy plastic power wing thing.

I must have been 12ish when I did this looking at the burnt base to get it sitting lower. It's well overdue a redo but the front of the roof is blue-tack so I'll leave it for now.

Meanwhile these are on the operating table.

That's the kiddy. That roof looks pretty good, noticed the Hasbro has quarter lights while the Maisto does not

All I could find was a Hot Wheel release and it's quite different

It was my birthday yesterday. For obvious reasons, celebrations of it were a bit low-key and this was the only present I got:

My sister got it online somewhere, I haven't seen this version anywhere locally. Appropriately the same age as me.......

More progress on the Skyline today:

Just hope that my current supply of Superglue holds out (Master SL is also using it on his Ferrari kit).

@bunglebus, the surprise selection was chosen by Doctor junior, hope they're OK ?

I really need to do a sort out of all the crap he has accumulated, and either keep or get rid. He must have about 300ish loose playworn cars

AMT kits are good. The newer reissue boxed kits have the older 3 in 1 parts included but don't have the instructions for what to do with those parts. So you can choose what you want to build, and get loads of extra parts for kit bashing!

Thanks, have a good one! Mine was alright actually, good to spend time with just the family rather than visiting or having people round.

As we couldn't go on our planned trip I've had the excuse to do what I want and mess around with small shite.

Case in point, got round to spending an enjoyable few minutes in the sunshine taking photos of this recently-completed project:
