Bollocks, I snoozed and lost.

On the offchance that drastic money shortages affects both Plasticvandan AND Christine and neither can afford five flippin' quid, I'll take up third place in the queue, aka "no chance sonny".

It's the spit of my mum's old one.

PVD is having it I'm afraid! I'll have a rummage in the extensive boxes of damaged stuff on the off chance there is another...

Mr L

Are you going to offer the damaged stuff up to us lot again?

Posted

In the process of clearing out my mums loft of all my miniature chod. Putting it in ebay, seems all the glamorous shit like Porsches etc no one wants but shit like 1/18 scale Golfs, Spitfires etc is getting bidded on like wildfire.

If the glamarous stuff is Bburago, Maisto or Revell Id be interested muchly.

If you are interested I can have a look through and see if I can put a box of assorted stuff together. We've got a fair bit of damaged stuff lurking which with a bit of time and patience could be sorted into something useful. Leave it with me a day or two!

Has there ever been a model of the T12 Nissan Bluebird? I would have thought for such a popular* motor someone would have done something at the time but can't find nowt. :?

Posted

Tomica did a 1/64,I've got one.Don't know of any others though  :?

I have had a good look at Tomica but so far all I've found has been every other Bluebird except the T12 which was badged as the Stanza/Auster in the US and Japan! And yes I've tried searching for Stanzas and Austers, too. :(

Oops,I didn't look at mine properly & thought it was the FWD shape, but it is actually the last RWD shape they made.Sorry about that.I will ask on a Banger Racing model forum though, they're pretty knowledgeable on there.

I'm indulging myself in a return to childhood whilst my toddler is obsessed with cars. A visit to poundland revealed an array of Matchbox cars to chose from, none shite however. Only thing shiteish at moment in Sierra juniors fleet is a Majorette Renault 19 cabrio.

Posted

Matchbox don't make much very interesting,Hotwheels make a few Datsuns,Toyotas & they're bringing out a Mk 1 Escort. Some Morrisons might still have Majorettes, they make more down to earth stuff like Renaults & Citroens.

Posted

I used to like the Corgi Seddon Atkinson artics. Where do you get majorette cars these days though. Haven't seen any for years!

Posted

To answer a few of these -

Majorette - pretty much only Morrisons that ever seem to have them here though they are easy to get in France. Be interested to know where Morrisons get them though.

1/43 Nisaan Bluebird. Probably Ebbro - downside is that virtually none of Ebbro's product range makes it to Europe but they do a huge range of diecast Nissan / Honda / Toyota / Suzuki stuff but it seldom appears  outside Japan. Try having a look on one of the Japanese auction sites if you are really keen.

Matchbox and Hotwheels are the same company and they do appear to be trying to run the Matchbox brand down. It used to be that the Matchbox range had some nice 'everyday' cars in it but not so much now. Some of the Hotwheels stuff is good though but a lot is silly, blingy, 25" wheels, hotrod stuff. Still, it sells alright so I ain't complaining :)

Thanks, Lobster!

As for HW I have really slowed down on that as I'm getting tired of the 'import drift yo' aesthetic and also it must be said the omgripoffbritain rise to £1.50 in recent years has also been a good reason! So I'm now much more selective. As for MB I personally think their models are actually better quality than HW with the license plates, painted lights and proper wheels and stuff. Plus when they do do 'normal' stuff they don't ruin it with lairy tampos. In fact just this weekend I picked up a really nice Firebird Formula in Poundland. :) Okay, so it is a bit lairy, but not outlandishly so...

But then again I did pick up this lovely little Lotus from HW so they can get it right sometimes! More of this, please, Mattel! :)

In line with my policy to collect a 1/43 scale of every car I have owned or had as a company car here is my latest model a Visa, wrong grill but quite close on colour.

Oh how I would love to do that. But sadly there are some cars I had in 1:1 with not one model available.  :?

Me too, and some that are, are horrifyingly expensive.  I'm a bit more flexible with scale: mine run from railway trackside (so 1/72 at best) to 1/18, and I have near-equivalents rather than actual models.  I'm not averse to a bit of painting and remodelling.  Unless you know of an accessible-priced range that includes things like the FE Victor and 1968 Oldsmobile Delmont 88...

If anyone knows of a 1:43 late model VW Type 3 fastback, please let me know!

There is an odd car or two I have not been able to find such as a Bond Equipe GT4.

Then I once saw an unmade white metal kit for a Bond Equipe convertible but at £120 I let it pass, which I regret now as I have never seen another one.

My 1994 Lexus LS400 is represented by a Lexus 430 as I have never found a 1/43 model of the earlier car. There are a few other near but not exact models.

So I have not got a perfect collection but when I retire I will repaint some to match the cars I owned.

The collection is now over 150 models with some duplicates to represent the duplicates I have had as company cars or owned. I have been collecting for over 20 years so while the odd model has cost a lot, overall the collection has been obtained at affordable prices. I have noticed that recently models are generally much more expensive.

Apart from the obvious evil bay is there anywhere good to advertise this 1:43  Setra coach for maximum coinage please, i don't have a clue what it would be worth, but i do know it's not a cheap looking model.
