Shite in Miniature II

Mildly annoyed, Schabak Onion has a missung rear light, fell out the other day and no doubt is now in the hoover, made a replacement from blu tac and marker pen. Will be printing out more reg plates in 1/43 scale later to put on the latest bunch.

I think once I source the pair of Corsa Bs I will ease off on Vauxhallshite, but nit sure what to go for next. I may gut my Schucco Vectra estate and put the wheels on the silver Calibra if they fit.

A Ford Falcon GTHO Phase 3. Box is a bit tatty, but the model is mint.

It could be for sale if you really want it.

Edit: Bugger me, eBay wants $75! Ford scene tax innit?

I was looking on egay for the mid 1980s Mbx Superking Shell petrol station and transporter, and saw the only ine that was nearly £130, feck that. Anyhow. I did tge wheel swap on the Calibra, and added numberplates.

Looks better than the cheap plastic wheels, and they are from a Vauxhall. Sorted.

Nürnberg News

Can't say I'm impressed so far. Haven't seen anything worth posting. It's mainly new supercars, SUVs and racing cars.

If you like, I can post a few pics. I hope the next two days will yield some more interesting stuff.

I always enjoy your pics from there, please share!

Angyl, "The Londoner" is an approximation of a DM/DMS-class Daimler/Leyland Fleetline in pre-hush kit flavour. It was replaced by Matchbox with an approximation of Leyland Titan in a similar scale in the 1980s.

Does anyone remember the cars (Matchbox/Hotwheels?) that would change colour under hot water?

I haven't seen one for years!

A 1970s Norev catalogue has arrived. It is all drawings, but I will do some scans eventually.

Nothing from the 'fair' floats my boat so far. I wonder what Oxford have on display....

All I am really looking forward to is the 1/43 scale Bedford CF ice cvream van from Oxford, otherwise I will probably buy more older toss

Yes, I remember these. They always got stuck in an unappealing hue. Struggling to find an example of the old ones, only new stuff, but I'm pretty sure Matchbox and Hotwheels both had a range of these in the early 90s.

They were called colorchangers sold in late 80’s. I’ve several of them somewhere.

Show us a before and after!

Would this have been around the time of the 'Technicolour' T shirts?

Hot wheels did some that revealed damage when hit by another car, IIRC I've at least one, which was a pick up truck, they did a sports car that had a resemblance to a RX7, and a caprice with side damage.

I bet not many survive with all their paint!

Crack ups?

Majorette did a range which had a similar premise, I remember having a Peugeot 205 which you loaded with a cap under the bonnet, then launched it into a skirting board/door/relatives foot/medium to large pet and it would deform the body and smoke. Ace.

I've been playing with a piece of green felt as a 'show field'

An attempt to recreate a photo from last year's FOTU. The camera really struggled to focus (no pun intended) on the Escort.

The colorchangers tended to all be in bathroom suite type colours. Pale pink, avocado, pale brown etc. I’ve the hot wheels ones, both the sports car and the police saloon.

My favourite were the Matchbox Roadblasters. You still see them from time to time usually minus the plastic armament.

I've just found a couple of Matchbox colour changers in the current batch: a FordThunderbird and a Buick NASCAR.  Anyone who wants them adding to their box, shout up.

Angyl, I can easily throw another Galaxie in your next batch if you want one to work on...
