That was quick! Looks alright.

I 'forced' JM to buy a Norev today too :-)

If it is any consolation, I've just blown my Christmas money on a couple of models that should be on the way from France soon.

Egg est un grand filou!

I was hardly finished to unpack this new arrival, bought without his - errr - assistance, when he contacted me and coaxed me into buying some more broken Norev chod at this insane exchange rate courtesy of some stupid twats at Whitehall.

Basically this is a box full of 1/25 drag racing equipment from the golden era of the sport.

The idea is that you can build two complete cars.

The plethora of parts allows you to combine them manifold.

I needed the kit mainly for the Topolino body and the early Hemi it contains, since I want to build a replica of the
Bradford Brothers's Fuel Altered, my second favourite drag racing car of all time.

Wrong eBay UK seller then obvs ;)

In other miniature news, (and also Death On The High St news) today was the final day of trading for St Martins Models in that there London after 50 something years.

Good. I say that as the shop that you refer to is a pale imitation of the real St Martins Models that was in St Martins Lane where I was a regular customer and then glamourous sales assistant on Saturday for about three years. When my friends closed that shop due mainly to stupid rent and business rates increases the imitation opened up around the corner. I say imitation as the owner copied the name, colour scheme and logo so people thought it was the same business. It was pointed out to him that in fact the older business was still trading as mail order only to which he responded with some vehemence and threats. Hopefully he's lost a packet as he's a complete bellend.

You gotta keep lookin'!

So far, charity shop clear bags of crap Chinese toys have yielded me a perfect uncracked Corgi Land Rover breakdown canopy, still with spotlamp, the original figures from the Corgi Ghia Fiat Jolly and the Matchbox Honda bike that goes on the trailer.

Any interest in this Micro Machines house? Missing the chimney on the end but still has the bloke sat on the sunbed and the bbq. £6 posted?

As I'm suppose to be reducing my model vehicles due to a lack of space. I did what any sensible person would do and went to my local Toy Fair Sunday. Was hoping to get some 1:43 models but nothing took my fancy so I went rummaging through the boxes of cheap mixed models / toys instead.

This one is my favourite, think it's a Mazda pickup made by possibly Playart? Though it's been inflicted with some vandalism to the paintwork and also has a identity crises with the Ford logo into the mix. I'll give them AS points for lashing on a Matchbox Towbar with glue mind.

Thank's Split_Pin I thought it might be the same model as the Corgi version. Instead of going to bed like I should have last night. I spent some time undoing some of the vandalism inflicted as it was bothering me.

Pretty pleased with that as the paintwork has hardly any chips. Result!

Took a quick turn through St George's Market in Belfast this morning, to procure some scones for a team coffee morning...

Of course, on the way back out I walked past THIS lot

HNNNNGGG...

20190111_091236.jpg

20190111_091245.jpg

Mostly smashed-up Superfasts and Corgi Juniors, to be fair, and a lot of the regular-wheel Lesneys were either badly painted with Humbrols or lacking glazing, roofs etc but still - HNNNNGGGG

To make matters worse, I only had £1.35 in my pocket after buying the scones, and no ATM for miles...

So regretfully, I had to leave these four - Husky Bedford TK, Majorette Citroen DS Ambulance, Zylmex Datsun Pickup and Majorette Saab 900

20190111_091229.jpg

BUT I did find this pair irresistable:

Mira Citroen CX 2400 Pallas

Not bad overall nick, although the glazing is annoyingly cracked - but it's mostly just dirty. Looks a pretty detailed casting, and I may remove the tatty Centro Medico decals as I think they detract rather than add to it.

And a Lone Star 'Impy' Range Rover, which is a new one on me:

The broken rear axle mount can be bodged (I've previously used cut-up strips of old bank cards with some success) and it looks a much more accurate casting of the Mk1 Rangie than either of the Matchbox and Corgi versions.

I know I promised to curb my opportunistic diecast hoovering, but I'm proper pleased with these. Though it goes without saying, if anyone on here wants them then I'll be delighted to rehome them for cost of postage only...

If you really want a DS ambulance, look no further ;)  I unpacked one the other day.  Anything else you fancy?

Heh, cheers but to be honest I'd only have picked up the DS Ambulance to offer out on here anyway!

I had a massive bucket of Matchbox sized stuff which I sold through here last year; I only kept those toys I felt really attached to from my childhood (so a good couple of hundred). All the more recent acquisitions have been admired for a short time then disposed of - what I really collect is more recent 1/43 stuff, but somedays (today) I just can't help myself...

The fella at the same stall did have a 1/43 Opel Calibra, though... so I might have to slip back at lunchtime...

What sort of condition is it in Eddy?

I've been looking for a decent one for ages.

Or indeed any other nice(ish)condition majorette, thanks.
