Shite in Miniature II

Some fancy Christmas cheese came in this nice wooden box with a sliding thick perspex lid. Far too nice to throw away, so I made a shelf, painted it and then finished it with the last of the Allegro's headlining material.

Pretty good for the 1:76s.

Excuse the general filth in the above photo, I've been sanding that table for approximately one decade.

And now a few photos of some larger scale models that I finally got around to putting in and on top of a display cabinet. All really of an American vee-hickles apart from the Lola T70s which are of course V8 powered. And off we go.

Lush!   Particularly the Graffiti set and that '57 One-Fifty - makes a change from all the Bel-Airs....

Took me a while to complete the Graffiti (probably my favourite film) set with the 32 as I forgot to buy one when they were current. A good mate gave it to me as it was just sitting in his loft. I recall that the prick that owns Pop Parts Plus had one on his stand and when I asked how much it was he told me that I couldn't afford it apparently. After that sort of shite remark I wouldn't have taken it from him if it was free. As for the 150 I bought it as a) it wasn't a Belair B) it's a fuel injection car and c) it was in a sale at the late lamented Modelzone store in Holborn.

Didn't know until recently about this die cast section. I have the models shown below for sale. They are all 1:18 scale apart from the last two photos which are 1:43 scale. All except two are Australian V8 Supercars and over here are extremely rare and thus, expensive! Of the two that aren't race cars, one is an HSV GTS (which the race cars are based upon); the other is a Pontiac Firebird (effectively a Holden Monaro Coupe).

I would like to sell the collection complete if possible and I'm looking for £160 all in.

PM me for any further details.

Was very tempted until I saw they were asking £95 which seemed a bit toppy especially as the cars had no braids and needed new tyres. Still lovely things though.

Saw a siku VW LT today in a box but the tailgate had gone which was a crying shame. They were fantastic models most so in the 1980s, the quality was very err German.

I think I have that one back home - is it green?

I received my Gama Mondeo from 64A60 a few days ago and I am delighted with it. I have never seen a Gama Mondeo before and as I thought this manufacturer had stopped producing Diecast 1/43 by that time. I have about ten other Gama models, mostly 1/43 and the Mondeo has far finer detail and accuracy.

I also dug out my other Mondeos. The plain blue Minichamps examole was bought with my first ever paypacket as a 15 year old in 1994. The yellow Siku was bought at a car boot sale for about 25p or something.

Going to dig out my other Gama models now too!

What make is the Renner 4 JM?

I was going ask the same question, Solido?

Aye, Norev.  And the 2CV.   The GS is a Norev Mini-Jet.

Good haul, especially seeing that the R4 is complete with its rear door...

I remember some of those lorries well from when I was a youngster. Pre-Superfast stuff just pre-dates me, they must have been hand-me-downs, but they remained in the toy box and were played with for many years (still have at least a couple of them).

Looking forward to visiting a toyfair next weekend.

That would be correct, sir.

And the 'trelle is not only complete, but it's also the early version with the separate rear number plate and tailgate 'glass'.

There is nothing broken off, including the bumber ends!

Too bad someone brush painted it auction red.

Yep, same here...

Did you see that insane fire engine made from Meccano?

I didn't inquire about that one either.

Seeing that Norev Renault 4 and 2cv gave me the incentive to find mine as my daughter had retrieved my small collection from the loft last week. I was wondering what state they would be in, bearing in mind past posts of distorted plastic Norevs. Mine were both bought in the early 1960s during a holiday at St Aygulf (France). Well, they were frail but had held their shape.  A couple of slightly blurred photos are attached.

I should really be kept away from my local toyfair and the Ebay as my wallet suffers a meltdown every time. But I neeeeed to own more models at least that's what the voices in my head tell me. I shall now inflict upon you my latest stuff. I must caution you though as there are a couple of 'white metal' models included  8)  8) . Off we go then, used a different garage this time as I believe some of you like them especially Eddie.

Aargh white metal alert!!

AAAAARGH!  Stop showing me IXO Bedfords!  I so have to have one, but I've never yet seen one I could afford.  Excellent garage there, and nice to see at least two of my current restoration projects parked in front! :)  I'd forgotten how good the Riley looks in red, I might have to go for that when I finally make a decision.

I got that CF from a shop in France as nobody here seems to have it, I find it strange that there are endless models of Transits, CA's, VW's ec but the CF gets ignored. It sold well here and in Europe as the Blitz but it's kind of invisible to the model companies. And who hasn't bought an ice cream from a CF van? As for the Riley it does look nice and that particular one is very clean with an excellent base.
