Shite in Miniature II

Novacar used to be sold in the Poundland when they first opened. The 605 is quite a decent model.

Yeah it's really well cast. The Majorette 405 is a bit crude in comparison. Heavier though...

These arrived today. By a company called Smer.

I was particularly attracted to the plain one as it's the same colour as mine on the box.

Though it turns out it's red. Then again it doesn't have alloy wheels, sunroof or boot spoiler either. Fairly basic kit but should look decent enough with a bit of detailing.

The only difference between the standard car and rally car appears to be a transfer sheet.

Those Skoda kits were actually developped for Smer by Heller.

Why they chose the odd scale of 1/28 is beyond me, but I bought them as far back as the mid 90s,

that's how old the tooling is meanwhile.

I remember flogging the Heller snap fix Land Rover 109s that were Czech branded in the late 1990s, the stickers they come with are a bit naf tbh, the rear light stickers often try to peel offin the corners. With a bit of work, these can look reasonable.

I think I'll probably paint the lights, as you say the transfers look a bit shite. Also, according to the box the normal car is mk1 (offset badge with slot alongside) and the rally car a mk2 (central badge with slot either side) but they are both the same body which is actually a mk1.5 (central badge, no slot at all). Am I being picky? Anyway that suits me, that's what mine is.

And 1/28 seemed a bit odd to me too. 1/24 would be more common or 1/32 would be great as they'd go with my Scalextric cars but they're halfway in between. But I'm happy and I'll especially enjoy painting the interiors brown and beige.

I did see a 1/43 scale model of the mk2 Favorit estate, but it seems to have been a limited run and is like rocking horse crap, saw a review in German on youtube of it, looks like it was an Abrex in the later white box

Corgi whizzwheels Jaguar pace car.

Hopefully I can find some stock cars to go with it sometime.

I like these - rockets were meant to rival hot wheels red lines. Unlike hot wheels they do not dissolve with zinc pest. I have quite a few.

Quick resto of Corgi Mini. Have attempted a few this week, this was the only one the paint chose to stick to...

Nice job on a tricky subject (with the three layers of colour and that blasted bonnet!)

Right, I haven't had much luck disposing of stuff here before but let's have another go. I just unearthed a box full of diecast junkyard fodder which will be going in the bin unless anybody here wants it.

These have all been repainted, badly, by a hamfisted pre-teen me, some are missing parts, most have had their rivets drilled and bases removed. Some are better than others but all are restoration/parts.

Obviously I don't want proper money for them but a contribution towards postage/packing/my time would be appreciated. I really CBA packing up loads of individual bits and would prefer to sell in bulk, but shout if there is anything you would like.

Sorry for poor pics

OSFs - The SIKU Granada wagon is fairly tidy and I'd guess not common

The daughter, bless her!!  :-)  , got a line on some guy [faceache linkkie] in NornIron blowing out his Corgi collection.

She hooves up and flashes her mobile at me.. screen shots on.. and (desperate for an Xmas pressie) asks if anything floated my boat?

Oh I remember the Technocrats!  They were a comic strip used in Corgi advertising in the early 70s.  The clean-cut hero type was called Zak, I think.

Nice find :)
