Bit late to update on this one but yes, four models taken from the range: Mini ; Volkswagen ; Morris Minor ; Citroen 2CV

SAM_3249.JPGSAM_3250.JPG

The standout is the Mini is clearly a larger scale compared to the others.  So I did a measure...

Corgi Cameo BMC Mini -  1:42

Corgi Cameo Citroen 2CV -  1:49

Don't have the others but it shows the difference of the Mini effort.  So if someone can let me know the length and width of the Beetle and Minor, I will put it in a table for completeness and posterity and we can never speak of the things again

Anybody got a spare door for the Corgi 1/36 Escort van?  This van came to me missing one, as you can see, so it's sat in my Projects box ever since.  Which is a bit of a shame, because the van is quite nice really and doesn't deserve to be hidden away.  A Radio Rentals door would be ideal but I'd take any colour.

As usual not a lot to find this late in the year, VW Nemesis appeared and even he'd only found a Maisto "Champer" and baja bug.

I unearthed a few right era Matchbox hiding at the bottom of various tubs though

I hadn't found this Aston Martin before

Doorless Cortina needed rescuing, and funny enough I have a regular wheels version stripped for repainting

Only just realised that Superkings are cigarettes too!

Okey dokey today was interesting, almost nothing to speak of at boot sale #1, then boxes of tat in one stall at the later one. It was tempting to ask a price for all of it but I don't need hundreds more cars to sort out and sell on.

This is an interesting one, I've found a few Gus's Gulper and Mulligans Mill misbuilds due to them sharing the base, and interior but in different colours. This one has the Gulper interior and engine scoop, but the correct orange rollcage! Very odd

Ah I see now, it would have had a rip cord.  So Dyn-O-Charger is the model name and not a model series name.

8eaced68-3902-4561-89d2-c92e81fbe5ef.jpg.6adfbffa1b6bea46b9de4c91273fc888.jpg

So that means this contraption is part of the same series as the gawky Mercedes C111

s-l1600.webp.3a9b72fa41005ad88382a99c0268698d.webp

Interestingly, Kenner used the Dyn-O tag for a whole slot car series.  Ok, that's not really that interesting.

Looks a good save.  I would just trim the whole spoiler away as it looks better without, as the bumper is intact, being part of the casting.

After all the Broadspeed chin spoiler cars never had the original road-going front bumper fitted

Also the Steed car had a different spoiler anyway

Mrs Concern recognised the seller as a miserable git with unrealistically high prices we've seen at a toy fair. His absolute lowest price was £10 for these two and he'd already had to lower prices to suit boot fair. Paid £8 which I was happy with although I had to endure him moaning haha.

Am guessing the Bond horse box didn’t come with the glider? You’re lucky enough to retain the fake horse arse though, since it’s hinged and unclips easily from the trailer.

The spring attached to the lever would ungracefully spit the glider out the back in a ball of disappointment, as it had a metal base and hinged wings that didn’t lock, so absolutely no play value beyond the novelty of the packaging of components and the tie in to a film.

On a personal note, the Range Rover being about 1/3 height of the ‘box  caused much derision  regarding scaling, as a young’un. Not much has changed today.

In retrospect, with Octopussy being released so late in the Mettoy era of Corgi, by that time I imagine launching anything, especially licenced, was worth a stab.

First diecast paintwork project in many, many years. My son owns a Big Banger (sourced from someone on here at some point I think) which has always had a missing engine. He's been on at me for ages to do something with it and I had some spare gold aerosol left over from my old mk2 Escrot.

Step 1: Filler!

20240817_155944.jpg.74d40cbebef9d62fae7717c5c233299c.jpg

Flat off with some fine wet and dry:

20240817_161250.jpg.7f07b23a1cade2855b280b70930e4fca.jpg

Prime (and then flat):

20240817_165342.jpg.898fb1c8bacf5c40bb06ae8f0dda2ae6.jpg

Annoyingly, I had a small area of paint reaction near the scuttle area. I was rushing a bit by this point though so tidied it up and flashed a bit more primer over it.

Then gold colour and lacquer:

20240817_185427.jpg.fdae718b5e3442485981b91c2d8fcaea.jpg

Then put it all together and tidy up the edges!

20240819_162437.jpg.9888085d6c5894c1a5d02c2ac877dc01.jpg

20240819_162506.jpg.603a67c411404cf06f75fff8db556eaf.jpg

I'm pretty pleased with it considering I rushed the process and haven't done any diecast work for decades. The main thing is my lad is chuffed with it.

I'm may have to do another at some point...
