The old Wildlife truck's looking good, I found a painted base one while sorting out the other day, so now I need to find a tidy example of it

Hope you're better soon btw.

I'm alright - scary thing is I had quite a lot of things I'd considered doing this weekend including FoE (weather looked iffy) and worse still Brentwood toy fair! I'd have killed off half the attendees I reckon, most aren't exactly youthful.

I got this Corgi Junior in a lot a while back

Because the front of the roller was snapped off, I should have just thrown it away really....this is how it should look

But I straightened it up and repainted it anyway, and maybe it can sit next to some old boys railway diorama once it hits the charity shop.

I make no apologies for buying it either.

Thumbs up from me.
It looks like a mk2 and the details look pretty good. Nice bit of printing for the badges etc too.

The only thing I’m not a particular fan of are the wheels. Maybe something I can address at a later date though.

Heres hoping they do a Miami blue L spec version in future!

Oh dear, I've been to three boot sales, various shopping trips and who knows where else

So when the UK goes back into lockdown they now know who to blame.

Hope you get well soon.

These little cars are hard to find as Mattel sold them under various names, unlike the similar Micro Machines that no doubt inspired them

The Capri looks like a good nicely detailed casting. I agree on the wheels, they look a bit too deep dished. They have followed the actual cars colour style on the wheels though.

I don not remember them being like that originally, I always thought they were all over silver or white.

They were silver, an option on Escort Ghias too, although very few seemed to have them

Made by Popular Plastic here in Britain apparently

Problem is trying to search "popular plastic toys" leads to predictably useless results

All silver does look right to me too. Interesting to see the Escort had them as an option too though.

You’re right about the dish on them. They look well done, but too dished giving them a sort of boy racer modern take on an old wheel look. A bit like those modern reproduction RS alloys you can get that are actually bigger and wider than the originals.

The dish on them reminds me of the 6x10 Cosmics that you can ruin the look of a Mini with.

From a collection of US trucks Altaya or someone did a while back.

Theyre not quite to the same standards as a premium IXO truck etc but they are still very very nice, and cheaper.
I like the livery on this one! Just needs a bit of weathering and a load of scrap in the trailer.

Theres a few film related trucks in the collection too, Smokey & the Bandit, liquid nitrogen truck from Terminator 2 and the Peterbilt from Dual (which I’ve got somewhere…).

There is a reason for that… 🙂

It was Poplar, not Popular

Poplar Plastics was a Welsh company founded by Dr. Islyn Thomas and Major Eric W. Jones using their post-war demob grants. It shared the large Bridgend premises with Thomas Injection Moulders (of New Jersey US) so Poplar would share original moulds with Thomas Toys.  Hence why a British company was modelling a US Ford C-series COE truck cab
