I’m not very computer literate tbh so that doesn’t really make much sense to me!😆

Dont you have to do a computer generated model of it then tell the printer to print in whatever size?

Yes, the 'file' is the computer generated model.

I don’t know of anyone who could do any of that though!

I so want to find some more of those Lone Star trucks.  A few years ago I wouldn't have paid them any time.

But then I fondled this S50 at a car boot for 33.3p.

Funnily enough I did get one of these, specifically...

...because I'd seen photos like this

...thinking that the rear tip bed would fit this

But no.  Project fail.

DID YOU KNOW

...that there were not only wide-arched and high/low datum Ergomatics but there was also a non-tilting cab made entirely from lighter guage steel for the lightweight 4 wheel Comet model.

Clearly, the manufacturing shift from Hong Kong to China did not improve matters much...

They did eventually cure the problem, going by this one on eBay

Don't forget the Marathon which was the ultimate lash up of an ergo cab.

It looked like the bastard offspring of  an ergomatic cab & a  block of flats.

Proper autoshite lorry.

That would be a good one for the guys who can modify models to make.

Yes, a real 'knife and fork' job by Leyland there.

We seem to have come down with a collective case of Ergomania.

The Marathon (so named because it ran for 26 miles between breakdowns) has been done in 1/76 by Road Transport Images.

As has the mark 3 Ergo with the lights in the bumper.

NFC166P.thumb.jpg.b17b607266bf46b74858ed7954254ba3.jpg

EFE of course did the original Ergo, on whose chassis these two are based, and the RTI mk3 cab appears to have been cast from a modified EFE cab as the EFE interior and glazing fit in it.

The Lone Star Gas Turbine is 1/76 too. I saw the real one running at Gaydon 2022 and it makes the most unearthly sound.

and then just the final touch-ins on the front. As the only gloss blue I had in the paint box was Humbrol 14 I tried to mix a bit of black with it. That blue obviously has too much white pigments as it just turned into a kind of Air Force blue grey. So off to Hobby Craft to get some Humbrol 15, which is a darker blue. That was still a shade or two light so a bit of black was needed to tone it down.

I still have another five Porsches to do. Inspired by some of the multi-tasking by other members, I am going to do these all at the same time. Also, for fear of repeating myself, I will only some before an after shots.

Corgi did loads of stuff in their Heavy Haulage and Hauliers of Renown ranges. For those with deeper pockets Tekno did loads of stuff which are getting very pricey on the second hand market.

These days Hornby would rather sell trains to a diminishing market of old duffers, twenty-seventy-million versions of the same 007 car or just a load of diecast Fords. The Corgi range of models has shrunk and shrunk over the last 10 years as they concentrate on just selling stuff that they think will sell again and again.

Just look at the IXO range to see what Corgi a turned their back on by just making Fords. Also IXO models are now cheaper than Vanguards.

Are you keeping the Big MX tipper?

Which is that? I’ll be honest, I only bought them to flip for beer money for when I go on holidays. I only keep things that I like.

Finally!!! A Proton! I had a small diecastgasm that caught the attention of a couple of potential Lego buyers in the same isle.

The Simca and Renault were found today in a charity shop. Lovely condition on both.
