No.33 Simca Cargo no longer delivers Saint-Gobain glazing.

I delivers Renaults for a living now

I hadn't appreciated that the example back here goes back as far as 1955 though!

Hey @FakeConcern

You're going to hate me, but here's another to collect!

French%20Dinky%20Catalog%201960%20Unic%2

Unic Lautaret tractor, with a Boilot Transporter!

French-Dinky-894-Unic-Car-Transporter-X9

Very different to our UK Bedford / Pullmore combo effort.. that looks quite puny in this company!

That's actually really stylish.  Even I, Mr Spendnothing, would like that one!

Slowly adding to the Majorette holiday collection. Got excited today when I saw this shop window full of 'proper' diecasts:

They had more inside, including various 1/24. The one that caught my eye was a rather nice metallic blue Renault 16 by White Box, but it was almost 40 euros. Nothing seemed particularly cheap, it was in quite a touristy town - they had a couple of Majorette Vintage 5-packs at 32 euros....

Never knew about the Seaplane or the Gloster Meteor and others.  Also, who has the Lawnmowers and lawn roller ?!

Notice it was printed with the supplying toy shop name on the cover.   The US catalogue is very similar, some omissions and printed with US distributor details instead.

Not sure about 1954 Meccano France yet, not found to compare, but do have some examples of other years back a few pages here, inc 1958 and earlier:

Anyone got a playworn  Morris Oxford MO  preferably in 1/43.

So many of the French Dinkys look great with realistic proportions unlike so many of the British ones (IMO)...

There’s a good few there I’d love, and didn’t know they did. The Ford Galaxie & Buick Roadmaster being at the top of the wanted list!

Ive got 3 French Dinky.
Chrysler Saratoga, Chrysler 180 and Opel Coupe…

Not the best pic of the Opel, but it’s next to the orange Beetle!

Several of those French Dinky cars were reissued a few years ago as a partwork.  I have probably 8 or 9 (without checking).  Unfortunately I missed out on the Opels and that lovely 66 Galaxie (drool).  I really really need a few of those, preferably worn enough to stand painting...

Yes the Chrysler 180 is one, isn’t it?

Posted

Pretty sure the Thunderbird is one too, available in a revolting vomit green colour!

I bought the Peugeot 203 saloon. Box said white, but inside got a sky blue with white tyres! It was only a fiver though

‘Only’.

Peugeot 203 shape would be a great custom though

This brought to mind the lowrider in a 1980s issue of Street Machine. Doing a search for that revealed that someone has made a rather nice replica with the Heller 1/43 kit: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/127732-peugeot-203-lowrider/

Been lucky to see one or 203s on this year's French travels, they always strike me as bigger than expected.

Some later Land rovers from Corgi

First up is a Corgi Drive Time Defender County. Drive Time being on of those attempts by Corgi to create another Vanguards Collection. It even has a VA***** product number.

I've been driving in my car
It's not quite a Jaguar
I bought it in Primrose Hill
From a bloke from Brazil

WP_20230803_11_05_20_Rich.jpg.945c9392204e6f0024715be58da1416a.jpg

It was made in fifty-nine
In a factory by the Tyne
It says Morris on the door
An Ebayer owned it before

WP_20230803_11_05_29_Rich.jpg.66e265534d829d332a0adefe69d049a8.jpg

I drive in it for my job
The governor calls me a slob
But I don't really care
Give me a hat and the open air
