Sir is partial to the salvageable sort of lame duck!  The coop under discussion seems to be complete but probably in need of paint, which is an ideal condition.  I'm interested in almost any family-type or executive cars from the 50s to the 70s, especially American, or police.  I'm also interested in commercial vehicles, from a Minivan to a Mack truck.  All in approximately 1/43 please, and at scrap prices.  Show me whatcha got!

@eddyramrod

I have a few scrap toys if you’re interested, let me know and I can put some photos on for you.

Corgi Consol Classic 315 badly repainted, missing bonnet, windows, steering wheel and with slightly crushed rear wing.

Corgi Jag MkX in bits not sure what’s missing without digging it out.

Dinky Police Transit, in bits and wheel arches cut about and missing the Police rack and also side loading door.

Corgi Police Imp I got from Dan, has slightly damaged windows and generally a bit tatty, I was going to either turn it into a Monte Carlo car or restore it, but I have too many projects!

Corgi Citroen Safari, I have two that would make one good car, my original repainted badly and missing complete tailgate and one from Dan complete (maybe missing tailgate window) with broken windows.

Corgi Plymouth Sports Suburban I got from the Toy Fair, complete but badly repainted, I was going to refurb this but if you want it I’m happy with that.

Probably tyres missing from most.

The red RS2000 will be paying a visit to "Smoll Eddy's One stop wheel shop" in the near future.

Pleased to have found these.

I have that Mercedes and it's like a collectors model rather than a toy. Not necessarily my favourite car but it has to be the nicest Hot Wheels casting to date.

Nice Treasure Hunts!

I had a quick glance through the Speed Machines in Smyths but they were all too modern for me

The XJC, Senator and Supra are all lovely, but I'm thinking they are the bigger Corgi 1/32 (or similar) scale and I've decided to stick to the older 1/43 models. However that Supra...

Edit; strange that the Supra is LHD...

I’ll keep an eye out for the 500SEC. Bought a Superkings A series powerboat transporter the other day, £5 plus postage which seemed cheap given it was all there.

I know Shiters are clamouring for the white Shelby, so I grabbed the only one there was; along with the 84 Firebird, the Nova Wagon and the green Cuda.  Two quid plus postage, or swopsies, especially if you're already holding something for me.

Ooo. Has Shelby been taken yet?

Then my work here is done.

And I no longer have to plan ever-more elaborate Easter week jaunts to far-flung destinations, primarily so I can drop into B&M stores in the vicinity on increasingly flimsy pretexts...

That one is a US Walmart Exclusive from 2018

The casting dates from 2009, can't think I've ever seen one though.  They seem to be found in packs, specific subsets that never came to UK (inc that Studebaker Avanti), a premium, or a chase car

There was also a version with a little living quarters (for munchkin sized persons)

Yes I have same dilemma.  Trying to focus on one scale just to keep the shelves from throwing an OCD paddy is a problem

Ok another question for all you seasoned modification experts, I would like to re purpose these Whizzwheels and the axle needs to be narrower.

Do you cut the blibble off the end with sidecutters to make it shorter?

How about fixing the wheels on again, crush the end in a vice or blob of Araldite?

Or tell me the best way!

Chop off the end. To make a new end I would use a cupped nail punch. Obviously you will need to hold the axel in a vice or some strong grips, and take care not to bend the axle.

I think your blob of Araldite idea is best.

Using a vice means stopping it bending.  I have tried hammering, not always succcessful and wish I hadn't started

You could avoid shortening altogether, by cutting short lengths of spacer from some plastic tubing and go for the Carlos Fandago look

Aah, this is a fun one. Yes you can cut the axle with side cutters (a pair you don't care about too much ideally).

*edit just looked again - they're the thicker axles out of a bigger Corgi - might be better using a rotary tool or hacksaw

Sorting the end out so the wheels don't fall off isn't so easy. I've seen people use a ball pein hammer to tap a flat onto the end - I just end up with bent axles.

Marty on YouTube uses a drill press and a home-made tool to spin the end.

I use a small blob of gel superglue, then once it's dry a bit of chrome paint over the top
