Car boot on a Wednesday morning! They had some on a Sunday near us but they turned into basically a market for plastic tat, capes and dead peoples clothes. The swap meet has proved much more fertile hunting ground lately.

I haven't, but it is a classic shade for them. Tamiya's Candy Lime Green would be good. Also have several Tamiya versions when I want to do a more standard version.

That's nice. I like the simplicity of them - and the subject matter was highly unusual (if you didn't realise about the Norev connection) so they were very appealing when I was a kid. My Ami 6 was definitely diecast, as I stripped all the paint off it during my 'restoration', but I can't be 100 per cent certain about every car in the range (although I'm pretty certain).

I know I already have several other versions of the Mazda.

Did well on a visit to the local Tesco yesterday:

IMG_4276.thumb.JPG.40d0cda4873ead87d265b614a8c097bf.JPG

The red RS was sitting on top but it was the only one there. Got the MBX trailer as it matches the Nissan pickup (which I didn't realise until I saw a photo on here the other day). No joy in finding the Civic.

In kit news, I'm working on this Mazda RX-7 as a quick Easter project:

IMG_4211.thumb.JPG.3b608b9beb7a298b8955daaf9340e7ca.JPG

So far it's in primer, awaiting final colour choice and chucking together. It's a rather simple, almost cartoonish model so I'm not worrying too much about detailing. Not yet decided on wheels, but they need to be wide.

Lakeland Motor Museum has recently had a silver RX7 of that generation donated... ;)

I might have to look for one of those T2s... where I worked in the mid-80s we had one of those, missing the fold-down sides so a coat of white and some taller wheels would see UHG 425R live again!

We christened it The Shitbox, and we were being kind at that...

More Lancia Delta than Golf from that side profile.

Nobody seems to be able to model the Mk2 Golf in smaller scales terribly well.

I like the 1980s Matchbox version, but it's a bit rubbish.

Ditto the older Majorette version.

Favourite is the Eligor. Don't know why, just because.

Am I the only one to think Eligor (despite this misses) has been underated?

The Eligor range was, I think, exclusively metal re-tools of old 1960s plastic Norevs - what's not to like? All the charm but none of the wobblyness / ability to exmplode into a million pieces if you look at them wrong. I only ever had one, the Ami 6, which I repainted to look like the one in a Practical Classics test of small 60s saloon cars because I loved it so much. Years later, I became friends with the subsequent owner and I've driven the car on several occasions.

I think that the Eligor range is under valued. A few weeks back I did a post that was Eligor Mk1 Jags, showing the variety of colours that they casting was produced in. Some colours are quite rare and also quite interesting. I think it is probably the amount of different versions of the same casting that they produce is what holds them back. They produced a large range in the 80s and 90s. Here's a few examples that had been through my collection.

Peugeot 203 came in many many colours

Just remembered that I did own another Eligor at one point - a Citroen Type H van, and this one definitely had a plastic body, though paired with a diecast base.

Some impressively fragile doors, too.

I only had this for a couple of months before swapping it on here, back in 2018.

The Peugeot 404 Break I'd had since about 1994, having bought it from a model shop in Tours (I think?).

Definitely underrated.
