Junkman Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 SunStar also made a 1/18 Trabbi.H0 ones were/are made by Anker, Wiking, Herpa, Brekina as well as SES Modelltec, a company that bought a lot of ex DDR toolingand is since making a wealth of eastalgia models. Brekina also made a P50. Anker also made a 1/24 plastic toy with friction drive and in the same scale there is the truly excellent Revell kit. plasticvandan 1
stuboy Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Postman came today... Banger Kenny and Junkman 2
andy18s Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I am after a DDR made plastic Trabant made by a company called Anker,I think,or some larger scale model in case anyone has one Junkman 1
Split_Pin Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 That user is a trusted seller/swapper on the Diecast pages too.
Negative Creep Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Any idea who would have made this James Bond DB5? Looks like 1:24 scale but the box gives no clues as to the make. Think my granddad may have ordered if from a Mail on Sunday typecatalogue. Seems good quality with lots of opening and removable bits but no idea of its value, if any Banger Kenny 1
Split_Pin Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Depends how old it is really. If it's within the last 10 years it will probs be Welly or something like that but if it's older then hard to say at that scale.
rml2345 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Franklin Mint maybe? They did a lot of newspaper and magazine adverts for things like that. eddyramrod 1
Junkman Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 It's the Danbury Mint one. It should at least have a small tampo print on the chassis saying 'Made in China', or only 'China'.Mint in Danbury packaging with all paperwork, they are knocking at the 300 door, but good ones without documentation still command in the 100 neighbourhood. All Mints in neutral styrofoam packaging are factory leftovers having left their country of origin via Hong Kong. They hit the markets here at vastly discounted rates usually via some catalog outlets, but not on a payment plan like the 'originals' did. Generally, if you want some of the Mints, no matter whether Franklin or Danbury, buy them now.Not only have the marketing companies pulled out of the model car market, but they ordered the tools being destroyed, so there will never be reissues. What's out there, is it. And since many people know about it, and the fact, that some models develop paint reactions and even zinc pest, values of good exampleswill only go one way from here. I'm already priced out of the '58 Bonneville, simply because I waited too long. Just to give you some indication, this is the degree to what I have been priced out of it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Danbury-Mint-1958-Pontiac-Bonneville-Sport-Coupe-Limited-Edition-Burma-Green-/262562095754 It doesn't feel that long ago that I could have bought a real one for that kind of wad. Negative Creep Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Thanks, looking on ebay they actually seem to be worth a few quid! Don't think he ever even took it out the box, but annoyingly I can't find the certificate
Junkman Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 If it came in a neutral box, there won't be any paperwork. However, paperwork and boxes can be obtained on eBay.
Negative Creep Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 The box is the same as the one in this listing, where the guy is asking £265! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Danbury-Mint-1-24-Aston-Martin-007-James-Bond-With-Certificate-/281925260935?hash=item41a40e1687:g:C2QAAOSwFMZWsJLF Edit - just found the certificate as well. Sweet!
Junkman Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That's the original Danbury box, so you have the genuine article. With 'neutral' box, I mean those that just came in the styrofoam block, there was no outer carton and no documents.
Negative Creep Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That's good news, but are they really worth £250 plus? I never recall it in his model cabinet so I think he bought it and just left it in the box
garethj Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 More progress on my 1:32 Harrington Legionnaire coach, windows are fitted, Big William is in the driver's seat, the rear doors are properly hinged and the back of the coach is powered to drive the Minis inside. Felly Magic, Spottedlaurel, egg and 23 others 26
dugong Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Yeah, how come none of the models I have are worth anything? They have their sleeves and all that guff.
sierraman Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 They're not Days Gone By by Lledo are they? If so you've more chance of getting rid of herpes than getting some coin for them. Purchases recently been a bit thin on the ground, only noteworthy one has been a Matchbox Homdarora motorbike - 20p at the weekend.

Split_Pin Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 They are not. Lots of Minichamps and Lumyno (Norev). What scale are they and what are the subjects?

Jon Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Hey, what's a Peugeot 605 model worth, either 1:18 or 1:24 scale? Not sure which it is but I saw the box for one sitting on a pile of stuff at a place I plan to revisit, so wondered whether I should make an offer on it. I vaguely recall that a few people wanted one.
andy18s Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Popped up on my eBay suggestions Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Can't add a pic
garethj Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I've had approximately zero time to get my Italian Job coach tested so I quickly put a track down this afternoon. No borders in place but firstly I wanted to check the braids were connected the right way around and it actually went forwards! I settled on the guide positioned on the 2nd axle, this gave effectively a shorter wheelbase but more front overhang. As you can see from the video if you take it slowly around the corner you need inside borders, but if you hoof it (and why wouldn't you?) the tail kicks out nicely and you can hold a drift with the best of them. Verdict: opposite lock with 4 steerable wheels is for WINNAZ. Banger Kenny, sheffcortinacentre, Felly Magic and 13 others 16
Felly Magic Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 That deserves eleventy billion points out of ten for WINNAH-ness. andrew e 1
Pillock Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Mrs_Pillock agrees with me, I've shown her the video and she says you're a genius. Now she wants a drift bus.
