"Just snap this beautiful car together"

Pretty much a perfect scale 1/25 GM production line, then. Body by Fisher.

Price.

[anorak mode] Eldorados are Fleetwood bodied [/anorak mode]

Looks like a '76? I thought Jo-Han were all done by then but Wikipedia informs me the '77 Coupe De Ville was their last moulding.

Jo-Han lived to the late Eighties. The last tool they made was the 1979 update of the 1977 Cadillac DeVille coupe.

In the 90s a few models were reissued by Seville Enterprises, then the tooling inventory was sold off never to resurface.

So are these!

Anyway I only mentioned it to make a very weak Fisher pun. Pun retracted.

Children's Hospice charity shop in Glastonbury, a worthy cause so all expenditure completely justified.

Part of some kind of 007 partwork series. They look pretty good, too, though I've not opened the blister packs yet. Not sure if I will. Fiver each, eBay suggests I've not over-spent.

.

You've done well on the Bond cars at a fiver. It's a massive series with some nice stuff in it. There's a vast amount of it floating Around at the moment.

I remember that Matchbox 6 legger pickup with the Honda decals, it had a removable part canopy in yellow clear plastic, and a small motorbike that sat in the back

I have 2 models on their way via Amazon, a Schucco Opel Ascona in orange, and an Oxford Mercedes Sprinter/Whitby Morrison ice cream van, bought via a gift voucher from the sis in law

I had that Cortina in that colour. Even remember the reg!

I went a bit silly on ebay last night too, got a Yugo Sana, Zastava 128 and an FSO Caro on their way as well. OOOPS!

 Yugo Sana,

That reminds me.  Got a load more 'Balkans' partworks coming. Daewoo Nexia,Espero, Yugo Sana, 45a, assorted Dacias, Wartburgs and Ladas. They were supposed to be here last month. Suppose I should see where they've gone.

at the end of the month I hopefully will have a bit more disposable income, so some will no doubt end up going Mr Lobster's way

I had that red Matchbox Challenger, too. I also recall they did a yellow one possibly with a black roof. One of my favourites as a kid. I think there all in my folks loft at the moment. Really must get them down at some point soon...

I have that Cortina and also a Bulgarian copy in beige with non opening doors nd in a modern blister pack. Quite a few Matchbox cars of the late 70s had Scottish border 'SH' registration marks.

Posted

Somewhere in a box at my parents I also have that Cortina. Mine is green though IIRC.

I'm well chuffed, can't wait for the rest of my stuff to arrive, especially the Ascona, if it's as good as my Senator from the same range I will be well chuffed

I have always wanted a model of an Invacar, to the best of my knowledge,no one in the history of modelling has ever made one, surprised really none of the model rail lot gave made one, being such a ubiquitous object of 60s and 70s street furniture. So,I've decided I shall make one.save cosmetic, painting stuff, and the odd airfix,I've never built a scratch build model. Obviously I'd like a reasonably large size. Any ideas or links to materials suppliers most grateful. I'm thinking that a model fiat 500 might provide a base, being as the last model invacar used the Steyr puch (under licence fiat) drivetrains and wheels.

s'funny, I always wanted a model of one of those, too! I wrote to Corgi Toys when I was ten asking if they could make a hearse...I suppose I was a strange child. Good luck with the project, god knows where you would start from, though...

I can now haz red Aggro to go with my yellow one (Oxford Diecast 1/76 scale). Just the harvest gold one to get now for ultimate shite win.

Also been building this piece of firefighting shite, a Reynolds Boughton RB44 with the Ford A-series cab. First metal kit I've tackled in a while.

Got this today:

Well, strictly speaking, I only got the box. Yes, I had an empty box sent from America.

The contents I had already. They were part of a collection I bought unboxed about 20 years ago, because the cellar it was stored in got flooded.

So I got a few hundred perfectly fine kits with no original boxes.

Good news, My Ascona arrived, bad news, TNT used it as a fucking football! The acrylic box lid it utterly clusterfucked, and it's an odd size that none of my other lids fit! The model its self thankfully is undamaged, and is superbly detailed, thank feck it didn't cost much, but that's not the principal

With a red hatchback one.

Slowly collecting all my cars in 1:43 scale, and I (sadly) never had a yellow 2dr Manta, only a red 1.8S Berlinetta. One I am happiest with is the Matrix Chrysler Fifth Avenue, right colour and everything apart from the wheels & sunroof. Might change the wheels on the real car to match the model ;) Also added an Avantime this week. Most missed - FE Victor (I think a white-metal company makes them but I am crap at making models), Chevette 4dr facelift (3dr recessed lights now available; could maybe graft that and a Kadett 4-door body together) and 300C Touring (ditto - 300C front, Dodge Magnum back - bit of greenstuff and paint, maybe). Believe it or not, the Visa Decapotable and Toyota Sera were amongst the easiest to find - and I know a Seat Terra van exists, but with Panda flat-front, not Marbella front.

I'll look forward to seeing a list, particularly of 1:43 stuff. "Desperately seeking" the old Maisto Marea Weekend in blue - I've seen a red one on eBay, and fire engine trim, but I had a blue one when I had the real car, and gave it to the kids to play with - now cannot find another!

If any AS folk want that yellow Manta I'll do it posted (slow/cheap post) for a tenner, I shoved it on eBay for £15 which is probably too much for the detail on it. Or will trade for a model I do need. I'll update the list. It's a bit of a mess at the moment.

Love that 5th avenue! I have started collecting 70s American land yachts due to my working through of Kojak episodes on You Tube.

I don't have many and they aren't that easy to find at swapmeets so if anybody has any for sale you will have a willing buyer.
