Picked this up today

IM000468_zpstvisdqfu.jpg

It's a large suitcase, completely full of diecast mostly from the '70s & '80s.It must weigh at least 40kg,I paid £41 from Ebay as it was only 5 minutes away from where I live  :-D .Highlights are a load of large Corgis which I didn't have like the Jag XJ12C & Opel Senator, plus a Ford Transcontinental transporter to put them in.

Wow, that's worth £40 just to sit and look through, I love that sort of stuff.

Love those Matchbox. I have quite a few cars of my dad's which were badly repainted by him. Probably ship paint as thats where my grandpa worked. However, these ones are my favourites, a bit of family history with them. Its also a little funny as my dad is such a careful person when it comes to belongings.

Bloody hell you go to some good car boots! Ours are more in the broken cup-tree and cracked pyrex realms of quality.

Go on, disgust me with tales of how few quid you spent.

If anyone knows of a 1:43 late model VW Type 3 fastback, please let me know!

I have a 1/64 one (Matchbox 67b) I would consider selling it, although it's (original) metallic pink!

The Matchbox 67b, as well as all 1/43 1600 TLs I know (Politoys, Norev, Minichamps, Dinky) depict the pre-facelift.

The only models I know of the late 1600 TL, are the Minichamps 1/18, or the Wiking 1/40 and 1/87.

The 1/18 Minichamps one is excellent. Even has the hatch in the rear load area for engine access and a rubber mat to line the area.

Shit, that's more than my 1:1 scale had. It comes in almost the right blue too, hmmmm.... Birthday soon!

To save lining the pockets of a stranger, is this something LobsterDiecast does?

That's a lot of detail, I think I need that in my life. Thanks for the heads-up

Fantastic detail on those Type 3's :D

I have a few Matchbox versions,

quite pleasing little models.

The red one is a regular wheels version,in very good shape.

The other two superfast, sadly the purple one is missing a door, and the pink one is faded.

Love the detail on them, despite the small scale.

You can get a dinky one as well but its one of the Company's late 60s offerings, in a slightly larger than 1/43 scale and horrendously ugly, like all Dinky(ies) of that era.

I was looking up Minichamps 1/18s yesterday and thinking they were madly expensive.  Now, however, I can see why.

Sadly not. Looks like they are very much NLA new unfortunately.

Check this muthaflippa out. Just arrived from China today, my 1/18 Scale SAIC Roewe 750. Modern Gentleman. Whilst it wasn't that dear,I've still had to wait a long time to take the plunge and splash out on this kind of thing.

I was in a junk retro* shop earlier and there was a Saab 900 and Calibra 1:43 models. Looked like magazine part works new in bubble packs. I didn't buy them because I'm not buying anything unless I've owned a full size one at the moment.

Anyway they were £4 each if anyone wants either I can pop in next week and forward them for what they cost plus postage. Don't know how rare they are or if they're worth the £4 even !

.....it wasn't that dear....

In saying that, may I enquire as to approx how many percent of an actual 1:1 scale 75 that set you back?

My balls are inflating right now just thinking about it.

When I say not that dear, compared to a Minichamps or Kyosho, its quite reasonable. It cost £76.71 posted from China. It was the second cheapest on ebay, some were inexplicably over a ton, the cheaper seller had crap feedback.
