Shite in Miniature II

Wonder how long it’s been there? Back when they were new they were ‘collectors pieces’ so they’d be unlikely to be rallied around in the mud. It’s odd how they seem to get in the strangest places, a house up our road was having soil took out to put a driveway in. In amongst it was a sixties Matchbox Ergomatic tanker, it was knackered but recognisable. Myself on one of my old allotments I found the back end of a Corgi Marcos Mantis and a King Size bulldozer, again on a semi rural plot of land. Maybe some kids were playing there in the seventies and they just got trod into the soil. Who knows? The Bulldozer lives on in my lock up on a window sill, I can’t bring myself to bin it.

It's not that difficult to remove the decals, which is what I suspect has happened.

This might just top it though. Never seen a tin plate Karmann Ghia before, I need to do some research into this one but it's a lovely thing, especially the lithographed interior

That's a 1980s Chinese copy of a 1960s Japanese Ashia ATC tin plate. The give away is the rear number plate. The Japanese version had a Wolfsberg WOB plate, the Chinese one is MF 743, the item number of the model. I remember them being sold in that there London in the late 1980s. There are still a few listed on Ebay in Australia.

That could be a Morestone Petrol Pump Series model. It is earlier than the Budgie. Given away with ESSO petrol.

Toy fair this morning at the Bluebell Railway which was lovely.

Not surprisingly most stalls were train stuff, however my usual fave seller was there and I bought  most of my haul from him.

Here’s a bunch of stuff I bought a couple of months ago. Both Citroens were absolute bargains. I was the only bidder on the Xantia and got it really cheap. Transit and blue T4 is from Schabak.

IMG_5569.jpeg.400f80f738bb0360decb52a93449492a.jpeg

Very nice. I have the XM and Xantia:

20250426_205424.jpg.f22bf906ee30bb43a596484c3bd0b934.jpg

You'll have to trust me the XM is there in it's box. I couldn't be bothered opening it. The front door is slightly open on the Xantia which is why it's looks droopy. The box is unfortunately battered, I did some rectification work on the Xantia and the box, but some new plastic sheeting may need to be aquired.

I have the VW T4 van but as an ambulance. I'd like a non-ambulance one if I can get one.

I am now looking at buying one of those Schabak Transits.

Brill. I've got a thing for small model hatchbacks. Growing up, it was mainly big saloons we got as 1/64 models from Matchbox/Lesney etc... with a small smattering of VW Golfs and so on. So to have something unusual like that would be lovely.

I have a couple of Mazda 2s from Matchbox, lovely little models, one is also green so this would complement that.

Did a lot of miles for work this week but still didn't manage to find very much on the stops I managed to make:

Box art on the Monaco not great.

Taken me a while to find the BMW, and even then it was by chance as it was laying on the shelf under the pegs.

Toy fair this morning at the Bluebell Railway which was lovely.

Not surprisingly most stalls were train stuff, however my usual fave seller was there and I bought  most of my haul from him.

Think I've got a spare green Polio.

Not familiar with the CD but I've got quite a few dance/D+B/Hardcore/Hip Hop etc CDs

I think it was summer 2023, after I picked one up in a French charity shop.

Yes, we established it was not a 'British Bus', but an Indonesian Bus

Yes! I saw the tag and thought I was going to have to stump up a fiver or something, cos I wasn't going home without it. Gave him 50p and walked off before he could change his mind

A short catch up - since mostly I am trying to have less stuff but...

image.jpg.023752b4669c42ac99b89e05dd05ca5d.jpg

This little one from @egg was just impossible to resist for some reason...

image.jpg.755a291f07d7c607b276760c64d84c07.jpg

It reminds me of something I love 😂

And then from @Andyrew

image.jpg.3e797c41cc0b69340849882b8cfdc4a8.jpg

Sky Blue. (I really need a combi for that reference to be 100%).

And some others.

And also...

image.jpg.adad751730083ab13b2f53466749b56a.jpg

Grey grey grey - the other one is set aside for a friend...

Then a trip for snacks...

IMG_9321.jpeg.30d28cf01f78ede6989975e882a37d91.jpeg

And next to the checkout...

IMG_9320.jpeg.abf5270fce1866b3a01e4d92f44571b8.jpeg

Why do I even care that I found a treasure hunt? But I did.
