I might have to look for one of those T2s... where I worked in the mid-80s we had one of those, missing the fold-down sides so a coat of white and some taller wheels would see UHG 425R live again!

We christened it The Shitbox, and we were being kind at that...

Nobody seems to be able to model the Mk2 Golf in smaller scales terribly well.

I like the 1980s Matchbox version, but it's a bit rubbish.

 

Ditto the older Majorette version.

Several different bike/trailer combos in Tesco

Entertainer have re-stocked Matchbox and Hot Wheels but all mixes I'd seen before - and all picked over as their delivery day is now Tuesday rather than Wednesday

Favourite is the Eligor. Don't know why, just because.

Am I the only one to think Eligor (despite this misses) has been underated?

I think that the Eligor range is under valued. A few weeks back I did a post that was Eligor Mk1 Jags, showing the variety of colours that they casting was produced in. Some colours are quite rare and also quite interesting. I think it is probably the amount of different versions of the same casting that they produce is what holds them back. They produced a large range in the 80s and 90s. Here's a few examples that had been through my collection.

Peugeot 203 came in many many colours

Some are cast in plastic like this Chrysler New Yorker...

and Panhard Dynamic

Being French they did plenty of Citroens

404 Police and Gendarmerie

911 Targa

Mini Mk1

And a huge range of 1930s Ford V8 models that came in all sorts of liveries. These are just Fire Service vehicles.

Apparently Asda are getting some good Majorettes in - I'd be really interested in the T3 and MK1 Golfs if anyone spots them!

Just remembered that I did own another Eligor at one point - a Citroen Type H van, and this one definitely had a plastic body, though paired with a diecast base.

Some impressively fragile doors, too.

I only had this for a couple of months before swapping it on here, back in 2018.

The Peugeot 404 Break I'd had since about 1994, having bought it from a model shop in Tours (I think?).

Definitely underrated.

Liking the MK1 Golf! That's the colour I want to paint my Corgi RC Golf... which reminds me, I need to dig that out and finish it.

I know you've already seen it, but my CMC Buick Riv just landed. I'm impressed every time with these, the quality is better than the originals when you look at the crispness of the castings etc. 

Anyway, time for some Trans-o-Lite fun

Little bit slow to respond here, but two of those cropped up at the market a couple of years back:

Not my usual purveyor, these were on one of the antique stalls at £20 each - so not exactly bargainous.

They hung around for a looooong time but did, eventually, go.

Great book, and definitely one of my gateways into the shady world of smol diecast collecting - it was on the shelves at my local library in the late 1980s along with this:

 

It has to be said, collecting diecast does provide a fair old revenue stream for the charity sector...

That Eligor 404 Gendarme wagon rang a bell, so I looked in one of my Police cabinets and lo, there it is, exactly that model.  If backup is needed I have a Solido 504 wagon that can also attend...

These came from a car boot seller who does house clearances,he said they were found in a damp garage 

These are straight out of the box I bought earlier,they're not pretty 😮

Large stuff first

Some look like they might clean up,others not so much

A lot look like they were in nice condition before being badly stored

You can never have too many transporters

Small stuff

Most of these are quite bad,especially sad about these three

A few might be saveable

Bits from the bottom of the box

And the empty box with some of the missing paint 🤔

All in all, not too bad.A shame they hadn't been stored better,but if they had been,I wouldn't have been able to afford them

In other news,these arrived today,from a Corgi Golden Jacks Corvette Stingray

I bought an Oldsmobile Toronado a while ago

@eddyramrodsuggested that the Corvette wheels would look good on it,so I bought a set when they came up

Of course,after buying the wheels complete Corvettes came up in my similar items,so I ended up buying this as well

At least now I can see what the wheels look like on the Toronado before I get another set of tyres 😎

Seller said they'd been in a garage for a long time 🙁.I had something similar with a box of cars I got last year,but they weren't as bad & it was mainly just transfers that were coming off
