Oh bugger!  I wish I'd known, I'm in need of a Tex Dinoco (I think that's his name); the gold Cadillac.  He's a Coupe deVille, 75 or 76 so slightly younger than Huggy, but I'm sure I could work out a satisfactory conversion.  If anybody sees one at tat-box prices, I want it!

Hopefully by the time I’m back home the Araldite will have dried on the axles of my Matchbox MB9 RS2000 Sierraman cabriolet...

Worked quite well I think. Was a bit of a pain in some respects, you can’t swap axles easily on these so had to file out the clamps and use Araldite.

I’m sure this diecast buying is a full time job for you! 🤣

Never seem to see job lots come up near us.

Is that whole tub full of VW shaped diecast??

Never seen one of those early green Matchbox transporters with the doors intact yet!

Yep, it was full to the top. The stuff still in it is the usual Chinese pull backs, money boxes, belt buckles etc that get given to anyone who expresses a vague interest in air cooled VWs. There are some big Bburago New Beetles in there and some other stuff worth selling on

Here's a selection of the "keepers"

Green Caravelle - obviously doorless, replacements are available. I have one complete one and one with a door missing

This is worth what I paid for the box alone, and as a bonus is in better nick than the one I customised recently

Corgi race support pickup. No tools in the bed

20210921_114102.thumb.jpg.1c2b5d9a431bf37e911822d774db2ccb.jpg

Another very pleasing find. I have one of these but it's very loose from being transformed too many times, and is missing the gun - but does have its bumper

20210921_113947.thumb.jpg.1f1936ff2a7b22dca2b1471ee6979bcb.jpg

These also have to be worth the price of admission - have you seen how much Micro Machines go for?

These are priced at £10 each on the box

Not sure the make on this, or if I want to keep it...

...but this is definitely staying

Much better than the rusty one I repainted years ago.

There are more but I think I've covered the more interesting ones

I've got them all except the black version. I will be very busy on eBay for the next few weekends I expect!

Is that silver pick up a Husky?

Unusual repaint on that Dragon Wheels too.

Nice haul.

Yes, it's bare metal but has had the rear wheel arches enlarged.

The look has a name but I can't remember it

I had that very same Tonka Green Buggy.  There is a photo of me playing with it in Mum's album.  Must have been ~1975

Funny how the mind plays tricks, the last one was yellow

I dunno about Bunglebus, but when my kids were little, car boots were the place to go.

Saw lots of boxes like this and we'd always let the kids pick a car or two. Quite honestly though, if you'd offered them a tenner for the box, they would have bitten your arm off.

A tenner? That's double what I paid!

I was offered a huge box of cars at the boot sale recently for £20, I probably could have split them up and made a profit but I really couldn't be arsed to carry them around and find space for them somewhere.  I'd say 70% of the VW box will be going up for sale

I’ve got 90% of what I’m looking for with Matchbox, so it’s likely 90% of what I’d buy I’d have already got. Missing quite a few of the 1/36 Corgi so concentrating picking the ones I’m missing up on eBay.

Obviously when Tesco was stocking new Matchbox I was picking those up but likewise that seems to have petered out. Even the singles they don’t refill now.

Some nice bits in there,

That caravan still has it's tow hook intact, the regular wheels Ford Prefect isn't that common either.

I was going to wash the car but it looked like rain, so out came the air brush.

When I was younger I couldn't wait to put freshly painted cars back together. I would get finger prints in the paint and make a mess of them and get annoyed, so they turned into rat rods or rusty wrecks.

Those earlier versions of the 32 Ford are a nice find, looking forward to seeing them finished 👍🏻

Do you use an airbrush for these? They look amazing.

Whoops, just won this box at the local auction! Wanted it mostly for the Speed Kings SM.

Thanks. Yes I use a Airbrush with Pebeo brand acrylic paint from Hobby Craft, thinned down with Asdas own screen wash. Then two coats of lacquer on the Volvo and Galaxie.

Someone on here was using the same set up and I copied, I can't remember who? The metallic seems the correct scale.

It's actually the new casting with the clumsy looking rivet/air filter cut off.
