It’s a weird feeling, looking back at all of these.

Must be why I spent a while, examining them.

I still have loads of Superkings cars and truck and trailer sets. They were my favourites.

I've only just got round to fitting batteries in the Corgi Maestro I got off @Amishtata while back. Even though I had one as a child I did forget how to operate the lights as I was looking for an on/off switch but I quickly figured out you simply press down on the front or rear axle. Anyway I thought it would be best to check the headlight alignment 😆 *Pics taken after alignment done*

I wonder if this is like the 911 I have. Takes two little old style car fob batteries and has a button on the steering wheel?

Mine burst* into life when I tipped the bag out, yesterday.
I’d rather have the Maestro, mind!

I've got a Volvo 740 from a Graffic Traffic set, doesn't look like it's ever been painted

There's a VW T25 Ambulance too,but I've never seen a real one.

Nice. I’d be tempted to remove the wheels etc and make it look like an unused shell.

I found a T25 ambulance in my lot, totally coloured in black. Maybe that was a GT.

Ha!  Terminator II livery!

The model is really of a Ford CL-Series, which I have a thing about

That Hot Wheels Rig Wrecker dates from the early eighties.  They resurrected the casting for Semi Fast II, which I might dig out to bore you some more

A word of warning.

Don't fall asleep while looking at diecast on eBay,you might wake up to find out that you've managed to hit the buy now & pay for something you didn't really want 🙄.It wasn't even the item I was looking at,but one of their other items.

Anyone want to buy a 1/43 scale Pegaso fuel tanker?😂

No I have six of those being delivered Friday.  It's a disease, that eBay trigger-fingeritis.

It takes 2 x AAA batteries.

Part of the Commando series from early 90’s.

Any sign in the Tesco yet of the Civics? I’d go have a look but the nearest Tesco is miles away!

Not sure if the supply of Matchbox has petered out in the U.K., guessing Tesco hasn’t found them the success they expected otherwise they’d have a wider product range.

Another parcel has arrived 😁

IMG_20201007_175027.thumb.jpg.fffb522be82078a3fbb51e04ae1003ac.jpg

Inside was another big box.

IMG_20201007_175152.thumb.jpg.441315c1b02bef7389a4f43a53998b0a.jpg

Inside this box was another Buick Electra for my collection.

It's fecking huge, a good foot long.

A major display unit reshuffle is needed to fit the beast in.

One more Electra to go to complete the collection.

This came from www.modelcarworld.de  cheaper* than evilbay plus 5% off for new customers.

*fecking expensive. Several bottles of Whychwood Goliath made me do it.

Holy manure, that's gorgeous!  If I ever come to your house you will need to frisk me before I leave!

Latest aquisitions are a Harrier Jump Jet and continuing the aircraft theme a Spitfire (and MGB).

As a boy my Spitfire was metallic mauve but you need a mortgage for one of those now. So a gold one and a new windscreen will have to do.

Interesting article.

So, red with detailed engine is the 'original' release after all

The Meccano magazine advert as mentioned in article:

So, £7.00, in today's money.

I'll go now.

As an interesting Triumph Spitfire aside... I was told that at launch and only 17 years after WW2, the Spitfire wasn't well received by some who thought it an insult to the plane.

It was the originally the US dealers of Standard-Triumph that were begging for a car to compete with the success of the 'Frogeye' Austin-Healey Sprite.  So to capitalise on being British, it was named Spitfire primarily towards the American market.  It was born from a portmanteau of 'Sprite fighter'.
