  1. Badge engineering. My front and rear Saab emblems were totally gubbed, so I slapped a new pair on (gen-you-wine OEM Saab, no less) which has really smartened things up. In the less successful corner, the "5" of "95" fell off a couple of weeks ago, and I also noticed the R in Aero was wonky, so I thought I'd just go the whole hog and debadge it. Which went well. The paint behind the badges is clearly slightly less faded than the rest of the bootlid, and a couple of letters took a tiny bit of paint with them - so you can make out the outline of all the lettering unfortunately. Hopefully after a couple of washes it'll all blend in a bit better. Looks alright from a few feet back and it's definitely smoothed out the back end, so I'm happy enough but not thrilled.
  2. You are obviously much closer to the facts than me - but I have my doubts personally. The rear quarter is way too good, and that's not the sort of panel you find from another car and "simply" stick on, plus all the swage lines and tail light holes are way too neat to be a DIY job. Not to mention it's become RHD, although I accept that racers do often swap stuff out of other car models like that quite regularly.
  3. Yeah, I'd be up for that. The Hinton Arms and Flower Pots in, both in/near Cheriton, are good pubs en-route too.
  4. Home now. Absolutely fantastic weekend, I can't wait to come back for another go.
  5. Drivers reported freezing* fog on the long back straight, in the early hours. The front grille's upper section points pretty much straight into the air filter so the cold and moist air is being force-fed straight into the carb with nothing to warm it on its way through. We all initially thought it was crap in the fuel but once some drivers reported the fog, it all made sense - sadly too late for us, we'd already lost all the time we'd made up. If the weather had been any different overnight, it'd probably have been fine.
  6. 4am engine change completed in something like 17 minutes... Not shabby. Could have got away without it but the diagnosis of carb icing was only figured out an hour later after multiple cars came in with the same issue. We were the first to experience it AFAIK.
  7. We were filmed for a driver change about 7:15, I don't know if it was shown on the stream though.
  8. Nice. You'll enjoy it - delicious to drive, look at and listen to. A car I'm very glad to have owned, and could see myself having another one when it's a bit more practical.
  9. I really ought to get my stuff together 😳
  10. Spotted in glamorous Redhill at the weekend.
  11. I found the 404 gearbox quite friendly except for the stick crashing into the indicator stalk if selecting 1st/reverse too keenly.
  12. Thought it'd be rude not to get a shot of the gaffer's executive transport while the humble servant (*tips hat) shuffled things back into the paddock! I do hope sir doesn't mind the staff taking such liberties!
  13. Look, I know my first name's french but that's not very nice!
  14. I'm struggling to think of anywhere else that an artsy photo of the Rolls' headstone grille would be embellished with a reflection of a crusty, engineless Range Rover buried in a hedge.
  15. Took the 9-5 (which recently became a Saab 9) to the FOD this weekend, well received all round with a few people left quite impressed at its turn of speed. Shame the "proper" 95 doesn't have it's face on, but it was nice to get the two side by side this evening for a photo op.
  16. Home after a typical un-relaxing trip down the A34. How I hate that road. Thanks everyone for a great weekend! That Rolls looks bloody sinister in torchlight. Proper. 💙
  17. Also, @Six-cylinderwhat time are you planning to kick things off tomorrow?
  18. I've had a rear end calamity in my PRE-FOD car wash 😢 Anyone know what to use to reattach badges properly?
  19. Oh dear, I've just seen a Berlingo van for sale going very cheap down the road. It didn't look too bad... at 30mph, in my headlights, in darkness. Might have a quick gander tomorrow, even though I have neither the need or space for a van.
  20. Bums, I have access to a fairly decent drone but I can't get hold of it (or learn how to use it properly) before the weekend. The camera's on charge though, for what it's worth.
