  1. depends what you mean by classic, i still think 80s/90s cars are peak. You get a lot of the modern perks which removes the downsides of 1950s motoring.
  2. Honestly I think it is the constant chopping of chod that has hurt my price, but I'm still going to be bitter about it.
  3. My other half had her insurance renewal through today 215 quid. I'm insuring a near identical car but I'm a couple of years older than her, never had a crash, never had points, same address, she has had one crash (a parking ding) which was sorted by insurance. We both got our licences within a few months of each other 10+ years ago. She has only ever driven her car but has been a named driver on my policy. I've had high performance cars and a variety of chod. She's only ever driven the chod. My insurance is £440, make sense of that one.
  4. I used to daily a 1982/3 Scirocco it was decent tbh, kept up with traffic always started. Only broke down a couple of times, once when it ripped the clutch cable through the firewall but other than that it was fine. I replaced it for daily duties with a civic and honestly I think I'd find it hard to go back. Power steering, abs and other such creature comforts just make moderns nicer.
  5. If for no other reason than that autoshite brown paint work.
  6. Wrong thread altogether, it was meant for the Scirocco thread.
  7. I'd say 1500 is about right tbh, maybe a little low given that it has an MOT
  8. my uncle had one for years, but he did live in italy so that's not surprising really. Traded it in for a first gen punto under the scrappage scheme, think he still has the punto to be fair to him.
