95 quid Peugeot
Since the demise of my fav 406, i've still been hankering after another.Theres this one on gumtree with suspected pump problems, its a new one on me as everything else similar ive had has had bullet proof mechanics https://www.gumtree.com/p/peugeot/peugeot-406-2.0-hdi-estate-12-month-mot-fuel-pump-issue/1262826642
sierraman
I wouldn't give £4.50 for it. He having a laugh, replacing the pump and injectors will be expensive. It's scrap. It's had it and he knows it. £450 and you are in running Peugeot 406 territory not one that needs hundreds chucking at it.
Bren
About £350 overpriced. I would'nt bother my arse.
paulplom
What price would a new engine be with all the ancillaries? Maybe worth buying a donor car as the body work looks mint as you would expect on such a low mileage example.

sierraman
While the engines out you'd be as well sticking another clutch in it as well. Sounds like a lot of fucking about. I'd find one that's a going concern.
95 quid Peugeot
reason i asked was i've never heard of these engines shitting fuel pumps like that.. a renault Clio dizzer maybe, but not a mighty Pug
SiC
Yeah often when a fuel pump goes, its subsequent internal destruction of its internal parts often is spread across the rest of the fuel system and ruining it all. Not worth it tbh. Could just be a failure of the part due to internal manufacturing defect, or even previously put the wrong fuel in, etc.

twosmoke300
If its a 90hp then injectors are non coded and cheap as chips secondhand , as are pumps .If it were mine id get secondhand pump , injectors and pipes as well as the filter housing . Put a new filter in it as well as put a cheap inline one in before the main filter . You may need to change this a few times as it filters out any swarf thats made its way back to the tank via the leak offs. Or remove the tank and clean / blow through the pipes etc.I reckon a £100 quid and you could get it back on the road if you were canny . paulplom

They_all_do_that_sir
As has been said its worth less than half what hes asking. If its mega mint I'd leave my number with an offer of £250 and walk away. If he bites do as twosmoke says...
