Hello From an Ipswich Newbie

Bonjour, bono estente & all that jazz. Anyroad, I was sent here by 2 mates, simply because it sounds like my kind of site. I drive a 1999 Skoda Felicia SE Magic, which has a fair few bumps & scrapes on (thanks to swmbo mainly).

The 2 people who recommended here own a minty fresh blue Sierra LX with a few subtle mods, and a little mad bloke with a severe rear engined Skoda fetish, and owner of a shiny shed, a yellow Rapid coupe, and a rathhy Estelle simply known as 'The Shed'

Here is the shot of my motor, pre front corner bump...

Wow, both your front foglights work. Surely some electrical anomaly?!

Welcome to the fray. From Earl, Frinton-On-Sea way.

Welcome! You know Dave then I take it?

Looks swell. I've always wanted a Felicia but haven't managed to own one yet.

Yup I know Dave. Was chatting to him about an hour ago. I've sen Trigger's Opel running around Ipswich more than once too. Nice and Fruity :P

BTW, My felly is a posh un, and has leccy windows (gasp) and granite metallic paint. And the sunroof DOESN'T leak!

It does look posh. It's always amazed me how the Felicia is capable of being two completely different cars. The shit-box version (see below), vs the metallic painted posh 2nd car "more room than our polo had and it's a VW doncha know*, pass the cucumber sandwiches jeeves" version yours embodies. *well, some of the switches are off a polo

Almost right, you'll get the hang of it... welcome by the way

It did leak when I got it, but, after a bit of jiggery pokery with a doobryfirkin, and no mastic at all, it is leak free, and I even tested it by blasting it with the inlaw's Karscher pressure washer. The poor thing now sports a quite deep scrape on the bumper, thanks to swmbo having an argument with a wall in the early hours of the morning a few weeks back. It also now has a leak free exhaust thanks to a friendly local mechanic who drives a 'Jack frost' Jelly mould :)

Hi!, I can't hide from anyone whilst in my Kadett! , Funny enough i saw John (with the Sierra, Oldford on here) today at a garage on Holywells road i was passing, it was some kind of car meet at a new garage that's just opened and this stunning Mk2 was there.

John said he saw you today too Trigger. He's a top bloke, and if I'd known about this today I would have popped down. Bugger....

Welcome along Felly.

Cheers :)

Greetings Felly.

The old Å koda Fellatio isn't a bad lump. Remind me spookily of Mk2 Golfs to drive.

Posted
Get outa town Pete, there bloody horrible! Anyhoo greetings Felly!

I thrapped the living shit out of a 1.6 Fellatio around Czech for a few days. Other than it being utterly shagged, it reminded me of nothing more than a tired 1.3 Mk2 Golf. Same rolly but grippy handling, same dodgy brakes, same crunchy synchro but the Å koda seemed to ride better.

It even had the same 'leaky matrix' smell as most Mk2 Golfs.

Why have you covered it with pacman stickers......

....oh shit, sorry wrong forum.

Welcome to Autoshite. We like combi boilers, apolitical rants about the NHS and other things vaguely related to decomposing heaps of metal. Sometimes a disaffected Scot posts irritating conceits from behind a user name, others sell 300 cars a week and Sheffield residents bemoan the lack of small sockets with which to hammer over things.

Chester is often delivered by means of an Iveco Daily, and Mk2 Escort V5s appear and disappear amid a fug of shisha smoke. Often, an Ipswich based Christmas jumper posts scans of road tests thought long gone in the epoch of human history.

Otherwise we mainly chat about the unloved and unpopular motor vehicles of yesteryear. HONEST.

Yes I've seen the Jumpy one's posts. I'm a lover of all thinks automotively crap, and am a big Skoda fan. This Felicia is my umpteenth, and my second Felicia. I've had some real crap in my time, including a Talbot Samba & MG Maestro EFi.

This Felicia was bought with mega long MOT, not many owners, and 6 months rent in the screen last year for £600. All it has needed in the time of ownership is 2 tyres, and a rear exhaust box, plus a bit of bodgificatoring by 'DI Frost of Ipswich', oh and a bodge repair to the wing mounts after swmbo walloped it.

Ha. Sprog! I had three Talbot Sambas. At the same time.

Welcome to Autoshite BTW :D

I paid £150 for the Samba, and sold it 3 months down the line for £250..It was a shed, but stupidly fast for a 954cc. I think it because it was made from tissue paper thin metal

Welcome Felly! Sounds like you'll fit right in here, especially as I used to have an MG Maestro too...

Practically secret Felicia fact: As soon as she saw one, my sister wanted one. Not for the 5 doors that hardly anything at the price could offer; not for any tenuous VW links; not for economy, ease of use, anything like that. She wanted one because her name is Felicity. (Can't blame me for that one, but it's true!)

I've never even sat in a Samba.

 Hey, what do you mean I'm a little mad bloke...I'll have you know I'm totally sane!

I'm sure I just heard Dave say Wibble. Love the shiny shed Dave, and want to pop over sometime and admire the fleet
