Does the new Focus look like a Kia?

Another mate has a Ghia TDCI (02 plate) with the flexible seating pack - 40:20:40 split rear seat, fold flat passenger seat with table backrest, and individual "ears" that fold out on the headrests - never seen another like it.

Deep green, cream leather. The Focus Roland Garros.

EXACTLY!! :D Which reminds me, I still need to buy one.

I don't think there's a mainstream volume car currently for sale in the UK that I'd consider to be beautiful. There's some I would consider "nice" or "smart (Passat, C Class, Saab 9-3, Citroen C5, A8, Panda and 5 Series spring to mind), plenty of bland and plenty of utterly gopping (Mini Countryman, 1 Series, Corsa, Ka, any Peugeot).

However, how many truly beautiful cars has there been in recent years? Again excluding small volume and supercars, the only ones that spring to mind are the Alfa 156, Alfa GT and 406 Coupe

I think the C6 is beautiful!

Really?!

Looks like a people carrier that has had all the air let out of it to me.

Still, I love the madness and i'm glad it exists.

Meh, it's all subjective. The only modern Alfa that doesn't make my eyes hurt is the (admittedly stunning) 8C.

Maybe not beautiful, but handsome in a muscle car sort of way nonetheless.

Let's ignore the led blinding lights and some of the drivers for the moment.

That does look nice. Audi make some fine looking cars these days, even if it probably is unfashionable to say anything nice about them on here!

+2. Some of the new Audis are bloody lovely things. I love the RS6 Avant.

That, to me, is what a bloody fast estate car should look like. As long as it has hyper bright Xenon / LED headlamps.

Ignore fashion. Eventually it'll go away!

To illustrate my original point,

2011 Focus:

2011 Kia C'eed:

I've not driven a Cee'd or a Mk3 Focus, but I dont suppose there is much wrong with the way either one drives.

Remember what Kia were doing when the first Focus was launched...

1998 Kia Mentor:

The Mentor! My neighbour still has one which takes a good few times to start in the morning. And then there was the Shuma.

The C6 is beautiful. But I can't forgive it's interior. It's just one big lucky dip in the PSA parts bucket!

That Kia C'eed does look smart indeed

The whole Audi range looks fantastic. It's a pity that they are driven by cnuts. And for that, they are not fashionable.

That more or less sums up my issue with the Audi range. That and the fact that the only equipment their styling department has is one of those photocopies that reduces and blows up stuff. I know it's good to have a family grille and all but that's ridiculous

Kia Mental looks a lot like a Mk1 Mondeo saloon... (amazingly I can't find a decent pic on the web of a Mk1 saloon!)

The front of the 1999(?) Shuma was a straight rip off of the 1996 Taurus (US Ford). Back then Ford and Kia were linked via Mazda, the 121/Pride was sold in the US as a Ford. Things have just gone round in a circle!

I had a 61-reg Focus behind me today, at first I thought it was a Gowf, then realised it was a Ford Mentor, sorry Focus. I think it's safe to say that it's anonymous and trying to get Golf drivers out of their Golf and into a Ford. So much for choice, eh? You can have any make of car you choose, so long as it's trying to be a Golf/is a Golf.

Just to confirm!
